Dan knows his bugs…

by BBBlogger on August 19, 2008

I have to admit to all of Big Brother Blog’s faithful readers. I do not always watch the feeds. I turn them on from time to time but real life seems to ALWAYS get in the way.

However, last night I had an opportunity to watch for an extended amount of time.

So…what insight did I learn? What shocking developments could I witness and share with my readers? Would any of the house guests streak across the back yard? (Am I really making a Zach reference from BB8?)

Well, what I saw was beyond amazing. It was Michelle, April and Renny finding and then capturing A BUG! Yes. They kept saying, “I think it’s a grasshopper…but it looks like a leaf!” Since they did not know what it was….they brought it in to Dan (they said he was a Biology teacher which I did not know) So…the 3 ladies caring this bug into Dan while he was sleeping in a clear container. I think Michelle said let’s scare him with it. Dan just woke up, rolled over and said “It’s a cicada.” Bug Mystery Solved.

**now aren’t you jealous YOU are not watching the live feeds!** 🙂

**Potential Spoilers Below….stop reading**

If you are someone who watches the TV shows and does not like to know what is going on then stop reading and jump down to the end. Basically, not only does Dan have knowledge of the bug kingdom but he also currently holds the Power of Veto. He also did not use it and the nominations have stayed the same.

**Potential Spoilers Below….all done….start reading again**

So with that being said, please know that the best part of this blog is not when I post a new blog…it is when you comment and share your opinions and what is going on with the house. There will ALWAYS be spoilers on this site. Sometimes you will be warned….sometimes not. Please read at your own risk.

Best thing I can tell you is to get the live feeds, read our blog and all the users comments and join us in the chat room. We here are just like you…fans of the show and want to be a part of the experience while it is going on.

I find it amazing that the current poll for who your favorite house guest still in the house is…

1. Renny
2. Dan (this surprises me some)
3. Keesha

Very interesting….this season is shaping up quite nicely don’t you agree?

Tomorrow we will once again open up the diary room, ask about what strategy you see and what you think will happen on Thursday.

Love you all!

Peace, BBBlogger

PS: Comment away…please do not insult or make fun of anyone else’s comments. The comment area is in my opinion the best part of this blog. So have fun….just remember to BE NICE! 🙂

In a typical Jeopardy style, Renny buzzed in and said “Who is Brian?” and Julie said correct allowing Renny to win over Keesha and claim this weeks HoH competition. I think she forgot it was Big Brother 10 and not Double Jeopardy…but it made me laugh anyway.

Also the house, and the readers of Big Brother Blog all voted for Libra to be evicted…and that she was. It was time for her to go….she was quite the stinker…

So now the “crazy lady” from the start of the show, who has mellowed out as time has gone on in the Big Brother house, now holds the power. She has said before that she would put up Ollie and April. Is that what she will do? I guess we will know soon.

Who do you think she should target? Who do you want out next?

Peace, BBBlogger

PS: If you have not signed up for the Big Brother Live Feeds, you can do so for 2 weeks free. Give it a try and see what you think. Then join us by commenting on the blog posts or come into the chat room and tell us what you think!

A loud voice comes over the house PA system…”Please report the the Diary Room!”

If you watch the feeds, you know the drill. You are now being called into the Diary Room to share your thoughts and opinions on other house guests (without them knowing what is said)

So tonight it is Keesh vs. Libra. I have a feeling the house wants Libra gone….and I hope that happens since I am a HUGE fan of Keesha…

…but as of now it does not matter what the house thinks….

ALL THAT MATTERS IS WHAT DO YOU THINK? Please comment and cast your vote for eviction.

Peace, BBBlogger

PS: Please join us in the big brother chat room tonight for our weekly Big Brother 10 watching party. It should be a full room tonight!

Big Brother 10: Top 9 Rankings

by soonerryan on August 8, 2008

As of this very second, I do believe the nomination ceremony for this week is taking place. All the feeds are on bubbles.

We’re pretty sure Libra will get nominated, and HoH Michelle has made no bones about it. But who will go up against her: Keesha or Dan? Even though Libra and Keesha mused last night about their impending fate, there is also a big push by houseguests like Jerry to get Dan on the block.

A brief reset: Dan is not in the good graces of Jerry, April, Ollie and particularly Michelle for his deciding vote in last night’s eviction. Nevermind that he’s America’s Player.

The rest of the houseguests don’t know this. Well, they do, but they don’t if you get my drift. They watched BB8, and they suspect Dan is playing for America.

Why doesn’t somebody work him to get him to admit it, one on one? Dan seems like a fairly nice guy, but he’s definitely apt to spill the beans, more than Eric was.

Food comps have already happened, but I have to say: Those aren’t really doing much for me in terms of interest. During BB8, slop really affected Jen’s play from a mental perspective, but putting Jerry on slop for the umpteenth week doesn’t seem to do much.

Old men and their fiber, I guess.

Don’t laugh. Fiber is good, although in a house full of people, I’m not sure I’d be all that bearable after four weeks of the stuff. And, I am presuming that this concoction of oats and whatever has some dietary fiber and nutritional worth to it.

I could be wrong. Perhaps Jerry is dying a slow death out there.

Alas, I’ve seen your Top 3 rankings, and color me surprised. I hear where your coming from with Dan and Keesha. They’re likeable. Good people, it seems.

And, I like that some of you mentioned Renny, who I am pulling for. She’s good people, bottom line. I’d go party with her in New Orleans anytime.

However, I think one of the houseguests is heads and tails above the rest right here, right now. It could change in the bat of an eye, but given that we all acknowledge producers have manhandled BB10 a bit this summer, I suspect one houseguest has a big-time built-in advantage.

So, here goes with this week’s edition of BB10 rankings.

9. Libra. She’s enemy No. 1 of the house right now, overall, devoid of any one thing that she might have done. Plus, America doesn’t like her either, which means America’s vote will almost certainly go to oust her. I cannot imagine ANY way she wins this.

8. Ollie. Who will sell out whom first? I suspect April will win out in this battle between lovers, should that scenario arise. He’s much more interested in sex than in game-play.

7. Dan. Sorry, but being America’s Player is a downright danger for any houseguest. And our Catholic school teacher has quite the hill to climb if he hopes to survive even two more weeks.

6. April. All it takes is for Renny, Keesha or Libra to survive this week and win next, and our bubbly blonde is in danger.

5. Memphis. IMHO, too many people see him as a threat. He IS a threat, and he did a nice job of avoiding the fray after last night’s eviction, but his perceived abilities — real or not — spell doom.

4. Keesha. Nice girl. Annoying laugh. Now, I know some of you can’t stand her, but I’m speaking in relative terms. Competitively she can survive, but emotionally, she’s a wreck. It will make her appear to be weak, and that could be her game-play saving grace.

3. Renny. My Renny. If she survives to the Final 3, which I think can happen, here lies the problem. That Final 3 competition is likely to be a hardcore competition, and she is not somebody you want to take to the Final 2. Period. Her ability to survive the first couple of weeks here, in combination with her ability to make friends, would make her a likely candidate for eviction with three people left.

2. Michelle. She cusses up a storm. She’s volatile. She’s BB8’s Amber with a Rhode Island accent, but she’s a gamer, and right now she’s in control. Competitively, she’s strong, and in terms of mental manipulation, she’s game. Add to the mix a bit of insanity, and she can stick around for quite awhile, I think.

1. Jerry. Here’s the surprise. I think, and color me the cynic, but I think CBS would love, love, love for the 75-year-old to win this thing. Nevermind that Jerry has weathered weeks of slop and most of the confrontations. Sure, he’s been on the attack a couple of times, but he hasn’t been a subject of any major attacks.

To put this in military terms, given that he’s a Marine, Jerry has waged a good war so far, picking his battles and picking nothing that he can’t win. To me, if I could get in a houseguest’s ear, he’s exactly the player they should work to evict.

On the other hand, I think for Jerry to win would make for a nice story, and we wish his wife well in her battle with Parkinson’s. However, I suspect everybody — us included — are underestimating Jerry’s resilience and ability to manipulate without seeming like the bad guy.

In fact, the label of “old curmudgeon” fits him quite well. And, I think he is absolutely the player to beat right now.

It all could change on the flip of a dime, so watch out!

What do you think? Do you think I’ve been drinking today? If so, what? 🙂 Have a great weekend, all!

And, the bodybuilder is no more.

By a 4 to 3 vote, the houseguests evicted Jessie, rendering a fight not unlike last summer when Eric’s America’s Player vote ousted Nick. This time, the houseguests are on to Dan, and most of the houseguests suspect he’s the AP.

See, it wasn’t supposed to be this way.

Up until an hour before eviction, Dan had promised Jessie that he would be voting for him. Perhaps that is a strategic mistake. Last summer, Eric was much more ambivalent and vague.

In a sweet bit of drama, Michelle won HoH. She’s still in the red unitard, which I think has become one of the signature hilarities of this show. I can’t wait until a dude has to wear it.

Michelle had it hard for Jessie though, and you might think that she’s headed straight for our Catholic school teacher. Right after the eviction, Michelle and Dan got into it with Michelle saying that she didn’t believe he was a teacher or that he had an old girlfriend named Monica.

Or at least that’s what I think she said. It’s hard to translate given that she drops F bombs about every minute. Nevertheless, Libra and Keesha are convinced that Michelle is coming after them.

They could be right. However, this depends on whether the pow-wow going on right now in the HoH room is worth anything. Jerry, Ollie, April and Michelle are bad-mouthing Dan something fierce.

The sides seem to be pretty well split right now with Jerry, Ollie, April and Michelle on one side and everybody else on the other.

Look for a revised Big Brother 10 rankings tomorrow. The results might surprise you.

In the meantime, who would be your Top 3?

Is Dan Blowing His America’s Player Cover?

by soonerryan on August 3, 2008

Happy Sunday morning my fellow followers of the church o’ Big Brother.

The big news for today is twofold: The PoV has been claimed, and a rift could be brewing between our house couple, April and Ollie.

If you don’t want to know about the PoV, turn away now. Otherwise, forever keep your peace, or keep the peace or keep your piece or whatever the heck the saying is!

The PoV competition was held overnight from Friday into Saturday, and the old man finally has a win. Jerry is the holder of ye power of veto, and nobody is expecting him to use it to save Jessie or Memphis. I do wonder what type of competition was held though. No offense, but I expect it was more cerebral than physical, although I’d be pleasantly surprised if the marine kicked a little tail on the physical side of things.

After a night of tense fighting in the Big Brother house, Saturday night was a tad more laid back. April and Ollie are having heart-to-heart convos about the game after a girls confrontation of Ollie and Jessie. April acknowledges she has “feelings” for Ollie that go beyond the game.

Waa, waa, waa, waa.

Michelle in her red unitard, which she has to wear all week, is completely smitten with Jessie, but I suspect you already knew that. As of 2 a.m. BBT Sunday, they’re the only houseguests still up, although I’m hoping nothing gross happens.

Muscles, yuck!

On the America’s Player front, best I can tell, houseguests are catching on to Dan’s newly found status. However, he hasn’t exactly played it like Eric did last summer. Dan’s laying hints like Britney Spears does bodyguards, and his acting is transparent.

In fact, Dan might have completely blown his cover by the time you read this.

As of 2:30 a.m. BBT, it looks like Jessie and Memphis are headed for a showdown deluxe come Thursday. While I hope Jessie goes, I still think it’s the smarter play to oust Memphis. On the other hand, Big Brother has a way of keeping douchebags (hope I’ve offended nobody) around way longer than they should stay.

Save Memphis!

Friday Night’s Alright For FIGHTING!

by soonerryan on August 2, 2008

Fights, fights and more fights.

For those of you without live-feed access, Friday has been one of the more dramatic days in recent Big Brother history. Dramatic is one way to put it. Brilliant is another.

As of 3 a.m. CDT Saturday, the live feeds are unavailable because our houseguests are in the midst of an overnight PoV competition. And THAT means nominations have been made.

So, allow me to catch you up.

Recall the endurance competition and April’s promise to keep Michelle and Jessie from nominations? Well, April did not keep her word, although in her defense I don’t recall her promise to keep Jessie safe as being set in stone.

Yes, Jessie is on the block, and so is Memphis, which I think is a smart move. In fact, April acknowledges that Memphis is the “real target,” although how often do we hear this?

After tonight’s series of fights, all bets are off anyway.

April, Keesha and Libra were among a few others talking about PoV. Our HoH, April, noted that she might have to consider who she’d nominate should Jessie or Memphis win, a comment Libra took to be an insult on behalf of the blonde princess toward her.

Cat fight.

The dutiful and level-headed boyfriend, Ollie, tried to step in and sooth things, but it didn’t work. Soon, April, Libra and Keesha were at each other’s throats in separate incidents.

Like an absolute madman, Jessie says something to Libra, which sets her off, which gets the tornado spinning again. Soon, Michelle was involved and, heck, even Jerry and Renny were fighting. And these weren’t mere debates. This was some high drama.

All the while, Ollie and Memphis chilled while Dan read the good book on a couch. Dan was part of the initial group talking about PoV, and given his status as America’s Player, I’m glad he stayed out of the fray for now.

Alas, the PoV is on like Donkey Kong, and I’m not staying up to see what happens. If one of you would be so kind as to keep us posted in the comments section, that would rock!

It’s back to the future on Big Brother 10,
as the ghost of America’s Player returns. Oh, and we
had an endurance comp for the right to be HoH!

In other words, if you don’t want it all to be
spoiled for you, look away. If you see me walking by,
and the tears are in my eyes, look away. Baby, look
away.

OK, there’s your warning.

And, boy, were there some tears at then end of this
HoH comp. But, I’ll get to that in a moment.

We had a live eviction tonight, on Thursday, the
proper and wholesome night for Big Brother evictions.
Wednesday stunk. Thank you, Big Brother! Alas, the
night-switch couldn’t make up for the lack of drama as
Angie was ousted by a vote of 8-0.

We also had the coronation of America’s Player —
Dan.

What a perfect pick! Very much like Eric, Dan has
managed to stay alive despite his early game-play. And
very much like Eric, Dan has become kind of a goofball
among the houseguests.

Tonight’s comp was an endurance contest in which
the houseguests would stand on a ledge and hang on to
a horizontal pole as the ledge shook and debris got
heaped onto them. Given this week’s L.A. earthquake
(5.4), it was an appropriate competition.

And, finally, it was one in which Renny did
well. She finished 3rd.

However, the reason I mentioned Dan and his
goofball persona is that he spent a chunk of the
competition yelling out cheers for the final three
competitors: April, Michelle and
Renny.

They were pretty funny, but he was actually
encouraging them.

Nevertheless, after 2.5 hours, Renny dropped and
Michelle separated her freakin’ wrist, Reason No. 584
why I would never be able to be a Big Brother
contestant. Because I’m a big &%$@#. Dang, girl was in
pain.

But before Michelle dropped, April assured her that
Rhode Island Red and her wannabe boyfriend, Anabolic
Jessie, were safe. And you know Ollie is safe,
too.

I can’t say I’m too sure how the proceedings will
go down, but Jerry has not been a performer.
Furthermore, I can’t imagine it to be wise for the
house to keep Memphis around for too much longer. Do
you think he’s still underplaying it a bit?

However, April’s your new HoH … Stay tuned this
weekend to see who gets nominated!

It is the night before another Live Eviction in the Big Brother 10 house so once again we are opening the door to the Big Brother 10 Blog Diary Room. Come on in…the room is open for you….our faithful readers….to vote for who you would like to see evicted this week.

Either Jessie (Call him Mr. Vain) or Angie will be leaving the Big Brother house Thursday July 31!

I personally would love to see Jessie gone. I have not been impressed with him or his game play. I think I may throw something at my TV if I see him give the cameras another celebration First Pump. UGH! However, I think Keesha is in control this week and she has made it clear that she wants Angie gone. I think this should be an interesting vote.

So I honestly have no idea who will go….so the door is open….I want you all to comment and tell us who you think should go this week. The floor is yours…

Peace, BBBlogger

PS: I love all of the updates and comments on the last post. Lots of gameplay info and thoughts….keep them coming. Also, per our poll, it looks like Renny will be BB10’s America’s Player. I am curious to see if our poll will actually sync with who America Chooses! 🙂

Lastly, I am giving an iPod away in my Big Brother 10 Vote off game. It is on my other site called Must See TV! So….go here….Big Brother 10 Forums, register (its free) and vote in this week’s public poll. You may win an iPod!

She said there would be no twist. We heard it out of Allison Grodner’s mouth that there would be no twist…

Well…since it IS Big Brother…didn’t we all KIND OF expect something?

As revealed tonight America’s Player is returning. We get to vote via Text Message (I so need an unlimited texting plan!) and tell Big Brother who should be America’s Player for a week! I think Jerry or Renny is MY VOTE…they would TOTALLY shake the house up! I voted for Renny! You can vote here…

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/big_brother/polls/

Speaking of “Shaking the House up”, I know the house guests were all a little shook up today due to the 5.4 magnitude Earthquake that hit LA. I personally missed it on the feeds but if you watched it…comment and let us know what it was like. I did see that the feeds were cut shortly after the quake started…my guess is the producers at the time were like…WHAT THE ?!? and hit the DUMP TO THE FISHTANK button quickly! 🙂 Honestly I am glad no one was hurt in the house and they were able to recover from it quickly. If you or your loved ones were effected by the quake, you are in my prayers!

More twisted items…what’s the deal with Ollie and April? Did these 2 think to themselves…let’s just get on TV and find someone else to be with and have our way with?? I know they have been together at least 2 times and seem to be having a lot of fun. I am not sure I think they are playing a very smart game….(however they seem to be under the radar and maybe playing the best game of them all so far) so who knows….I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on Ollie and April and their “showmance”. Is it a masterful strategy or is it just sex?

My favorite news of the week by far is that CBS figured out that Tuesday show with Wednesday show right after is too close together and is moving the show BACK TO THURSDAYS! (yeah!) So Big Brother 10’s live eviction show is on Thursday and not Wednesday this week.

Tomorrow we will open up the diary room and see who you think is going? But did Keesha do the right thing and sit on the Veto this week. I have heard a lot of people say NO and that she should have opened the back door for Libra. I personally think she did the right thing…it is only week 3 and there are still a lot of people in the house. Don’t make more enemies by making a major move this early. Keep your noms and get Jessie or Angie out. (I am hoping Jessie)

What are your thoughts…did Keesha play the Veto right this week?

Peace, BBBlogger

PS: Thanks to all of my Big Brother Blog readers for voting for Big Brother Blog and Big Brother Chat….we are now #1 and #4 on BBTop50.com! Whoo hoo! Thanks for voting! We will make sure we stay worthy of that ranking!
