…okay, well, I’m not that confused.
I mean, it’s Big Brother and we all know how Big Brother is played. People make multiple alliances and, with some prodding from the show’s producers, they come up with cutesy names for their alliances. There’s always a lot of talk about what the House wants but usually it comes down to what one very outspoken person is demanding. Whenever a player comes on too strong — like Amanda in BB15 or Frankie in BB16, there’s a tendency to let them boss everyone around and basically use them to be the villain.
(The smartest thing Andy did in BB15 was to make an alliance with Amanda and then allow her to do all the dirty work until he could finally betray her.)
But these past few days…
Seriously, these houseguests have been playing like crazy since the live feed came on. Actually, they were playing before the live feeds even began. And, to a certain extent, I’m glad that the people there want to play but I still have my doubts about whether or not anyone in the house is smart enough to maintain a consistent strategy.
Unfortunately, it does sometimes make it a struggle to keep up with who is working with who and who is going to the next one to be betrayed by his or her former allies.
Right now, everyone seems to be okay with backdooring Jace after the veto ceremony. And that’s okay with me. I haven’t gotten to watch as much of the live feeds as I would have liked over the past few days. But from what I have seen, Jace is a loudmouthed jerk. He’s the type that my cousin Erica would call a “dumbfug toadsucker” but that’s just because Erica doesn’t like to curse.
Jace appears to only have one real ally in the house and that’s Austin.
And speaking of Austin, I had high hopes for him during the first episode. He was the big scary-looking guy who was smarter than he looked. That’s one of my favorite type of players right there! But, from what I’ve seen of him since that episode, Austin has not impressed me. He mostly seems to be in the house for the fame.
The only thing that keeps Austin from being the biggest disappointment is that Vanessa is in the house. For someone who was presented as being this super sneaky, strategic-minded poker player, Vanessa has so far either been a cry baby or a nonentity.
So far, it seems like Audrey is playing the most determined game right now. She’s in two alliances right now — or at least she was the last time that I checked. She could have formed five more in the time it took me to write this, that’s how hard Audrey’s playing this game. And ultimately, I think that will be her downfall. She’s not as obnoxious as Amanda but she’s definitely making the same mistake of trying to dominate the house too early.
(And yes, the whole idea of an all-girls alliance fell apart pretty quickly. It almost always does in the Big Brother House.)
Finally, isn’t Clay nice to look at? Unfortunately, it appears that he is dumb as a rock but oh well… 🙂
Veto ceremony may be held today and it should be a dramatic one. And, tonight, we have a new episode of Big Brother — which will be good because there’s a lot that’s gone on that I still need to get caught up on. Hopefully, tonight’s episode will feature some footage of Stephen hiding in a trash can and trying to get information. Ever since I heard that this may have happened before the feeds went live, I have been eagerly waiting for confirmation.

Great report Lisa. I was able to find a video of Episode 1 BBAD by searching for “BBAD 17 on Youtube.” It helped me get a better understanding of the houseguests. Since my cable provider (AT&T) does not offer POP Tv, it’s better than just searching the internet for spoilers and information about the houseguests. This season’s HG’s are a weird mix, that’s for sure. The people I thought would be good players, like Ryan and Austin are a disappointment. I was really touched by the way Steve was comforting Vanessa when she was crying. I really like Steve. I hope he sticks around. Well, back to my book, it’s a page-turner about WWII, which I love. Thanks, Lisa. As always, I appreciate you getting the ball rolling each blog. I’ve been busy with work and wish I had the time to come on more.. and in another week I will be gone to the wilds of Yosemite for 3 weeks… so no BB for me.
I think this is the first time that I have liked all the houseguests. Thank goodness there is no gross out player like Adam or the train guy. The women are all attractive, but for you females watching… you got screwed. About the only eye-candy (as my friend Betty laments) is Clay (Jace is okay if he could keep his mouth shut)… and Lisa, I don’t thing for a minute that you ladies are interested in his smarts. He may just be the luckiest guy to have ever played Survivor.
I like Shelli, Liz, De and Becky (I would include Meg if she would shut the fuck up). I like James, Steve and Clay. Austin and John (who I did not like at all in the interview tape… but those aren’t really a good judge really, being orchestrated by the producers) are okay. I do like Jackie from TAR but I never liked Jeff and I still don’t… something about that guy just isn’t right. Jason is this year’s Frankie… always performing… his Peewee Herman shtick is too much. I am reserving my opinion on Audrey until an episode goes by that she does not bring up the trans thing. I like her and just want her to be a game player. Finally… Vanessa. I was excited that she would be on the show, as I have seen her play poker and always liked her. But what the hell was going on with the crying jag??? I saw her on BBAD weeping about how awful it was to be there and the people and what they were doing… she never explained that I saw. Maybe it was game play, I don’t know but she must be a hell of an actress… after all, she could have been in the house only a couple of days. I must say, that John and Steve were very nice to her.

THANKS LM – this morning in the backyard, Vanessa and Austin were in a deep chat – SHE TOLD HIM EVERYTHING – including the fact that Jace was the target and that Audrey is in an alliance with everyone in the house.
Been under the weather so I have had to much live feed time – Im so sick of Clay already! Although he is cute, he has the same ole crap to say to all of the HG. Too much camera time. Is the camera person a girl? HA!

Chase is so annoying and Jason is even more annoying. Maybe because I can’t stand peewee Herman!
Jason just seems like another big mouth looking for attention.
Hopefully tonight will get a better insight but one thing for sure most of these players are playing…finally..a cast that is!

Hi everyone! This is beginning to look like the blog I love. Great comments! All of the old familiar faces and some new ones. I have been busy getting caught up on the BBAD on Youtube. I’m having to watch them a day late, but I always DVR’d them because it was on so late! It has allowed me to get better acquainted with the HG’s. They are a strange bunch this season. Ted, the book I am reading is “Chateau of Secrets” by Melanie Dobson. It starts out in 1940 with what is going on during the invasion of France, and skips ahead to 2014 to the granddaughter. The entire book goes back and forth from 1940’s to 2014. Great book if you like WWII stories. My other favorite authors who write about WWII are Dan Walsh and Sarah Sundin. Let me know if you read any of them. I read them on my Kindle Fire. Well, back to Big Brother. I think I will go watch yesterday’s BBAD before I watch tonight’s episode. TedStrutz: Lucky dog… going to Yosemite!! From 1986 to 2006 each summer and fall camped in the midst of the giant redwoods that are 2 1/2 hours from where I presently live.
I was shocked at Vanessa the cry baby but she seems to be toughening up. Funny how she is so scared to interact with the other females…her girlfriend must be really jealous.
So far I like Austin and Vanessa and hope they don’t disappoint. Love the twin twist…I hope Liz lasts long enough for it’s execution!

Just watched my first BBAD, which has helped with names & faces, however, there’s no way I can keep track of alliances, let alone faux alliances! Time will tell. I haven’t chosen any favorites as yet. Sure wish some “mature” people would have been chosen as houseguests.

Thanks Jolie for the twin info….but I have to say that if it is Liz….well after looking at the pictures of them….I noticed their eyes are very different!! LOL! Are they already changing places?? Can hardly wait to see it!
One thing I noticed is that POP channel does not censor their language…..wonder if they’ll censor the late night nudety also!
Right now I’m watching BBAD (I recorded it! LOL)…and matching faces and names with the banner at the top of this blog!! Thanks so much for putting them there (I would be lost! LOL)
