BLOG CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!
Tonight’s premiere of Big Brother left me wanting more and more. When the show ended, I turned to my husband and asked “is that it?” I thought for sure there was going to be some twist or something that we didn’t already know was going to happen. Anyway, here’s your recap.
As usual, the houseguests were sent into the BB house in groups of 4. In past seasons, this was a big deal since there usually aren’t enough beds for all and picking your room, etc. was strategic. Big Brother played this part down and…well and nothing!
When the houseguests introduced themselves, nerdy Ian figured out immediately that Willie was related to Russell Hantz.
The HG’s were told about the “twist” of having four former players coach them. This made them pretty happy because none of them wanted to compete with the former players. As predicted, the four coaches are Dan, Britney, Janelle and Mike Boogie. Each was able to pick their players. The coaches picked up right away that Willie was related to Russell and avoided him in the beginning of the picks. Why, I ask? At least you know he has the drive to win and probably the cunning that Russell has. Like him or not, Russell played to win. Britney ended up with a pretty strong team. She picked Willie and also Shane…two strong, capable guys. Janelle took Wil, with one L. Boogie has Ian the nerd and Frank with the wild hair. Dan ended up with three gals including the forty-something year old Jodi. You see where this is headed, don’t you?
The first HOH competition involved jumping over moving blocks to get a teddy bear and getting it back to the start. The coach of the first team to finish gets to pick HOH. WHAT? The coach gets to pick the HOH. I’m NOT liking this plan…not at all. I’m old fashioned. The player who wins should be HOH. Period. Then to make it even worse, Julie announces that the coach of the team who finishes last will pick one player to be evicted immediately. Nope, I’m not liking this idea.
If you can’t put two and two together, Britney’s team with Willie and Shane wins the HOH competition. Britney picks Willie to be the first HOH. Death sentence or a good thing? We shall see. The last team to finish is Dan’s and he has to pick the player to be evicted. Of course, Dan picks the older woman. Older women do not have much of a chance on these kinds of shows. So Jodi comes in one door and very quickly is out that same door.
No clues are given to us about the future competitions and how they will be played. I’m hoping that the coaches don’t have as large a role in the Big Brother game as they did tonight. I like when players play the game and win or lose. That’s the point isn’t it?
I was expecting something more—another twist perhaps? But, there wasn’t any. At first glance, some of the players are standing out as strong competition. Surprisingly WIl, with one L seems like a contender. If Ian can survive the physical competitions, I think he’ll be interesting to watch down the line too. Then of course, Willie is going to wreak havoc on the house (I hope!). I didn’t really see one female stand out above all the rest yet. I’ll reserve my opinion for a later date.

It’s already down to 11 players on the first night. Not counting the vets since they are just coaches playing for a different prize so I wonder if Jodi wll have a chance to return??? It doesn’t seem fair that she is already gone with no chance to play for veto to save herself. I think there will be more to this game. At least I hope so. Tonight was a little bit of a let down. But I am not going to judge just yet…I will give it a few episodes.

I actually thought it was pretty good. Caught the East coast feed. Dan drafted like the Charlotte Bobcats. Really think his team is done after Opening Night. And wouldn’t be surprised if Jodi is now in Sequester.
Feel Willie Hantz’s ego will be his downfall. Not sure of their names, but the first two dudes drafted (Puka shells and Hairball) would be my early favorites with Ian a dark horse if he can handle any physical comps.

I didn’t like that they sent a player home the first night. kinda felt bad for her. and i hope the show gets more exciting. maybe it’s just me but i actually was bored. my hubby went outside to water stuff……instead of watching it. he’s alittle hyper and it couldn’t keep his attention.

OK, I thought my earlier spoiler info might have been wrong, however, with the early eviction it now seems to still be possible if they bring in 3 people for the next twist.
11 HG’s left + 4 Coaches = 15 ……. Bring in the 3 surprise HG’s and you have “18”

Threrewill be “18″ houseguests!!

1) For the first few HOH comps, “3″ houseguets will be nominated and “2″ will be evicted
2) There will be 2 double evictions this year
3) Houseguests can win as many HOH comps in a row as possible
4) This one s a doozy! After the first HOH comp, the HOH will get to select 1 other houseguest to be given “The Ultimate Golden Key” and be safe until the final 8. Before you think this a great gift, listen to this ……. They will have to live alone in a seperate room, they will be a have not each week, and upon their return they will be automatically nominated, UNLESS, they win the HOH.
I have also learned who 3 suprise HG’s will be, 2 from Survivor and 1 from The Amazing Race! if you want to know who they are e-mail me. And you have to promise not to post them here!

Love your theory Luv2shootpics. Are you the Poster Formerly Known As Snakebit Sal? I’m guessing from frannie and aggie’s posts. Either way, that’s good stuff and would make for an unbelievable season. Read on Twitter from someone there are 16 photo spots on the wall now although BBAD hasn’t aired here in Las Vegas yet.
Would love to get the names of the 3 eventual HGs you’re talking about. Would never post that here but would love to freak some on Twitter out. I do like the way the season has started but need to watch BBAD to see what’s really up. Seems the girls got drunk and Janelle and Britney are debating putting Ian up now although it seems Frank and Cara have been tabbed as the first two nominees as far as I can tell. Wonder what Sunday’s big surprise is–three nominees would be perfect mathematically for the path you see.

I am always a little overwhelmed the 1st few BB shows due to the number of people. Before I can even remember their names, they are gone tho, so I don’t sweat it!! Too many people talking all at once and scheming in corners. But at least I knew the rules and knew everything would fall into place eventually. But now…I am overwhelmed and going WTF???!!lol HOW does this coach thing work??? It seems like teams are trying to work together, mostly against Boogie so far.(Jannelle said she is so OVER the *Booger*)lol But how does that help the Coach in the long run? They said the Vets would be playong their OWN game. Uh…not really!!!! They are totally vested in who WINS……so how are they not playing the game????
I am with Bloggergal and I don’t like it that players aren’t winning or losing on their own accord. Has anyone been watching the Glass House?? It sucks, but I have been. And the Team Captains GO if they don’t win for their team. It feels similar somehow and I don’t know who’s copying from WHO here!! It just feels inherently WRONG and very UN-BB-like to have someone arbitrarily picking winners and losers!
Off that topic…also weird that so much show had taken place already. Kara and Frank are nominated. Danielle and ashly are have nots….was So hoping to get rid of THAT feature!! And Ian won spme kind of SAFE thing, but not sure what that is all about yet. And the Veto Comp is Fri. Wasn’t that usually on Sat??? I am feeling very Twilight-Zonish here as nothing feels familiar. And kind of Less Than, if that makes any sense.

I shouldn’t judge by Russel but I absofriginlutely hated that guy and his BRO is a dead ringer..all the way down to his voice!!!! But..no judging yet….just nails on a chalk board everytime I see him!!!! lol
I agree with aggie about Brit. Like her but….one of BB’s BEST players?? SHE got played by the Brogade…totally!!! That is a SUCKY player to me! And I was reminded that she had been a MEAN girl. Remember her always dishing and being catty about everybody???? Weird selection of Vets. Boogie and Janelle have been on BB 3 times now!!!!!! So this is basically a career for them!! ??? And I still say, the way they get Vets…altho I fervently wish they would STOP it…..is who needs the money or more 15 mins of fame that year. Has nothing to do with *greatness*!!!
Dan is giving a backrub to JoJO, I think. AND picked an all girl team. Really Dan? You were so much more faithful when you were just engaged….lol
Ok..done rambling. I really am feeling a bit light headed after this 1st show. And like them or not as people….I WISH they would QUIT bringing Vets back every year!!!!! There are thousands of people trying to get on this show…PICK some of them!!!!!! Maybe it’s just network laziness..they get tired of interviewing..lol

I know Howie could be very stupid in his season, but it was entertaining, the feeds were great in that season. Kaysar is very smart a graphic designer, but yes he was a dumbass, for giving the competition to jennifer, then Maggie had her do the dirty work and nominate Kaysar. Kaysar was good at times in season 6, really intense, I thought he sucked in allstars, because his family didn’t like how he acted in season 6, so it was like he was sleeping through allstars

Star, Janelle was always pretty, she didn’t need the work, that’s the thing, she obsesses about this stuff, The one thing that looks good with her is her makeup, she knows how to put it on, and doesn’t over do it like some on that show. So she looks good for the most part.

I don’t think I like the “team” thing. I like it to be an individual game as a few others have said. I found last night’s show boring. I hated that Dan let the only one that tried so hard go. I hated that the Hantz dude got HOH..they should have at least let the 3 in the winning team compete for the HOH. After all, this is Big Brother…

I agree with you…. I hope that they don’t have the coach pick the HOH every time. That would not be fair to the one not as well liked in that team. I heard a person can be HOH twice in a row too. Did anyone else see or hear that? I hope that isn’t the case and what I heard was just another one of the many rumors I have heard so far.

What’s up girl? “On every social media?” Hardly. On Twitter since February and
only have ever gone to one BB blog–ours here. Do watch “Dick at Nite” and check into Rob Cesterino and Murtz Jaffer’s podcats like once a week to get info but Elvis will return before I get on Facebook, or do any other freaky Instagram or other social media. Let’s just say I have missed the last 11 years of my “Up With people” meetings. Do like to communicate about passions like sports, BB and the weird shit (UFOs, astrology, cryptozoology, Mayan prophecies, crystal skulls, The Illuminati and all that jazz) so have found Twitter (as well as the Internet, TV and radio) a great vehicle to do so. Never thought I’d enjoy Twitter although I must say it is quite ridiculous also. (I’m a Gemini). 😉
Actually hearing that Britney was a possible last-minute replacement for another Coach (Rachel? People would’ve freaked if she was back and CBS pulled plug late?) and I agree she doesn’t rise to the BB Legend status but she does make great TV. Feel her team should win.
