Argh! Eric’s On The Block

by soonerryan on August 6, 2007

No surprise. Daniele put Eric on the block for his perceived house crimes, and Eric is all but assured of going home. Unfortunately.

As much as Eric loves this game, as well as he has played so far, a darned plane banner will be his downfall, and there is no recourse or relief from Big Brother. I don’t buy for a second that Daniele or Dick would have figured Eric out if it hadn’t been for the banner — neither are cerebral enough to deduce too much correctly.

However, they are aggressive enough to make what knowledge they can muster pay off for them, and that my friends is the essence of this game. Big Brother winners have to twist the sword while the killing’s good, and to let a good player like Eric escape from this would be a big mistake.

Kail is totally beatable. This is a no-brainer for the houseguests. They must vote Eric out.

Earlier today, TMZ reported that Big Brother issued cease-and-desist orders to a company that flies planes over the house. However, contrary to what I thought at the time, their cease-and-desist orders pertained to a FUTURE flight in which the pilot in question was going to reveal Eric’s status as America’s Player to the rest of the house — essentially Eric’s only chance to survive.

Do it. Do it. I triple-dog dare you. Have some cahones. No court in their right mind would give the producers’ case the time of day. Go. Go. Go. Go! Go! Go!

I’ll say it, and it matters not to me what the rest of the Big Brother population thinks: Eric has been cheated. Regardless of his deceptiveness, regardless of the deceptiveness of anybody else, and regardless of anything — the gist of this game is that it’s all supposed to happen within the confines of the house, with no outside influence.

However, this isn’t the first time it’s happened, and it won’t be the last. To be honest, it wouldn’t be good reality television if there weren’t a big to-do to get us all fired up, right?

I totally hate Eric and I think the America’s player was a stupid idea. If Eric is not out then I will have no choice but to stop watching BigBrother in protest and I hope millions follow my lead. BigBrother GET ERIC OUT NOW or suffer with lower ratings.

I was skeptical when I first learned about the “America Player” twist for the BB8 season. I wondered what would happen if that player was the first to be evicted—then what? If the show’s producers had really wanted to give America a voice or perhaps even a stake in the outcome—I believe it would have been better to have America just be a player—separate from anyone else in the house and allow America one vote that would affect certain dynamics of the game. I also think the actual eviction vote numbers should NOT be revealed to the HG—they vote in secret but then the vote count pretty much reveals how everyone voted. The houseguests in power for the week enforce a herd mentality that tends to eliminate any upsets in the voting. I say keep the HG guessing on what the actual vote count numbers were!!
I’m not a big fan of Eric but it seems to me he’s getting a raw deal this week. I understand the dynamics of the show and agree that Eric has not always done things that would have advanced him in the game…but the banner was UNFAIR (yes, I know there have been banners before) but this definitely was the catalyst for his current situation. Being targeted by a game spoiler on the outside will, at least in part, be the reason he goes home this week.
Its interesting to me that the HG have not (unless I missed it) questioned why there is no “America’s Choice” this season—a smart houseguest would figure out that the show’s producers have in some way involved America in every season since the beginning.
I hope Eric is able to rally enough votes to stay in the house this week.
