No. 8 From Season 8: Joe Dishes Dirt On Dustin

Before we delve into Big Brother 9 (remember: cast revealed Feb. 6 on CBS’ The Early Show), I thought we could relive BB8 in the form of some of the summer’s greatest moments.

What makes a great Big Brother moment?

To me, it’s a Big Brother moment that either sets the tone for something, alters the face of game-play or presents us with an immortal snippet of entertainment.

This first clip did at least two of the three, and it came on the season’s introductory episode. As Dick Donato, Jessica Hughbanks and Dustin Erikstrup sat in the HoH room, 11 houseguests got word that three people from the past were sitting upstairs.

Immediately, Joe Barber told these strangers that he was sure his ex-boyfriend was one of these “people from the past,” noting that Dustin had allegedly given him an STD and that — in return — Joe willfully set out to “ruin this man.”

It was catty. It was high drama, and it was shocking — and on the first night to boot. I might be in the minority, but I think BB8 ranks among the best seasons of the show, and boy did Joe Barber set the tone and provide us with a hilarious clip … my No. 8 clip for Season 8. Enjoy.

  8. Cant wait to see the efforts of the Decoraters! Should be interesting to see the L.R. & K. decked out as a log cabin. Nice wintery theme. And to keep them warm…a cozy fire pit and heated pool! Guys better watch the streaking! It wont be pretty! I like the idea that they’ll have short partition walls between their beds. Might induce more “snuggling” & hopefully we’ll hear whispering better! Great incentive to deck the HOH in surfer theme…pining for summer! QUESTION? Does anyone think “dirty little secrets” really applies to the BB house having secrets and NOT the Hsgst? I bet if Dick wannabes show up they”ll get railroaded & evicted first. Speaking of ED, thank god he is only showing up as SH2 promoter! BB9 has the potential to top BB8! I’ll have the show running, live feeds, Joker, SH2, AND the DNPrs to concur w/ here at the Best Blog Site EVER!! KUDOS to you BIG BROTHER BILL! YOU DONE (DO) GOOD!!

  10. The “Dustin Gets Evicted” moment was classic; definitely Top 3. I’d rank #2 being Dick’s infamous wake up call to the houseguests (on my myspace page; click my name above),but, the one that stands out to me was when Danielle told her Dad, “You don’t have to do this” when he and dweeb supreme Zack were in the rain game. That, to me, was the moment that they truly reconnected on a different level. I rooted for Dick from Day One, and was so glad it turned out how it did. I liked on BB After Dark during the rain competition how Dick relentlessly taunted Zack…

  12. Redarin..I totally agree with you! We taped that moment and watched it over and over, and it never falied to entertain! And I also agree that BB8 was THE best season ever…and I have watched it since the very beginning. there was something more compelling about this group of people…you cared about them..whether it was love or hate….and things they did and said stuck with with me….whereas in other seaosns, once it was over I totally forgot everyhthing that had happened. Proof of that being….in the clip that you gave us yesterday BBBlogger, I answered every question Julie asked the houseguests CORRECTLY! Even the ones they missed themselves! I’m not sure if I should be proud of that…or a little frightened…lol Anyway, I can’t wait for next Tues!!!!

  14. Some truly great moments listed up there….one that brought me much laughter, a lighter side of things, was the episode where Eric had to mimic Dick. I saved that episode and watched it a lot of times before deleting it from my DVR. It wasn’t that memorable, but it sure made me laugh. Cheerios flying, noses blowing, it was good times!
