Has Dick Won The Coup D’Etat?
Talkin’ some game here at work, and a look at the live feeds from overnight and a read of the boards suggest the possibility that something big has been achieved by somebody or some people in the house.
The word on the street is that it could be this year’s version of the coup d’etat.
First, it really does appear as if Dick’s staying this week. He’s warmed up to both Jessica and Eric, and the lot of them (including Daniele) could be forming the season’s most powerful alliance. Given that this season has largely been divided by those who hate Eric and those who hate Dick, this possible alliance is pretty much akin to the Americans and Russians striking a deal in the 1980s.
However, there’s something else at play here. Apparently, both Dick and Daniele have discovered a message on a wall that relates to some chess pieces that relates to the game, a discovery that prompted an immediate diary session and a ton of excitement.
Could it be that Dick can veto the vote come Thursday night?
Could it be that Nick is coming back? Rumor has it that Nick is hanging out in L.A. this week.
Maybe he and Daniele have discovered the America’s Player twist, and there is something powerful about having discovered it?
Perhaps Dick gets to replace an evicted Dustin with his frenemy, Joe, a proposition Dick might enjoy given his feelings toward Dustin right now.
Bottom line: Something big has happened, and it definitely looks like good news for Dick and Daniele. And it also looks like the Dick and Eric camps are about to come together something fierce, which could give us our first peek at the Final Four.

Well, it’s not for sure, but here’s what we know:
1. Daniele was told by somebody outside the house that a big twist comes on Week 7.
2. Dick was WAY happy about a discovery he’s made.
3. Daniele was WAY happy, too.
4. It centered around a discovery in the house.
It might not be coup d’etat. It might be a giant prize. It might be veto power for one week. It might be an automatic HoH for the person the finder designates. It literally could be anything, but I’m pretty sure that whatever it is, it ties into the theme of the house — Alice in Wonderland.
And I am pretty sure whatever it is, it affects Dick in a positive way.
Feel free to speculate, and we’ll let you know as hear more … but methinks whatever it is, Dick will be keeping it close to his vest.

I am sooo happy that Dustin may go home!! That guy has been so full of himself ever since he was HOH. I would love for the new alliance of Jess, Eric, Zach, Dani and Dick to rule the house. Nick coming back would be awesome—he was such a stand up dude!! I just hope Jessica can throw her dead weight (Amber and Jameka) out the “in” group and then it is game on!! Amber and Jameka have had a free ride on the gravy train for way too long!!!

I don’t get everyone’s love for Dick and Danielle - they are utter trash and I’m ready for them both to be gone. I don’t think Zach and Jen will vote to keep Dick. I think everyone in the house knows that this might be their only chance to get rid of him. I liked Danielle initially - but she’s become a bore. She was absolutely dull as HOH - her dad was really HOH that week. I’m seriously hoping it goes down with Dick leaving b/c I can’t wait for the footage of watching Daniele cry her eyes out like she’s the second coming of Amber!

this is one of the best things that could have gone down for Dick and for Eric. I don’t like Dick as a person, but I do like his moves as of the last week. Lining up with Eric and Jess was his only out, this could be a great alliance and then when it gets to the final 4 or 5, it will get oh so very interesting. Eric, Jess, Dick, & Dani duking it out to win should be good times.

My, oh my! This is JUST what the show needed. I am a die hard BB fan and was really hoping this season was going to have some really great twists. I try to watch and listen to the live feed as much as possible, but it’s really hard to at work! I got Showtime just so I could wach BBAD. I love hearing the old music during the breaks on the live feed. Reminds me of Marsales for some reason. Thanks for keeping all of the insane BB8 fans on the internet informed. Dick is a slob with the worst personal habits I’ve ever seen on a man! If he is farting and burping, he’s picking his nose or hocking a lugie out into the backyard. Even his own daughter had to tell him to say “please” and quit just telling people what to do. I want him gone . . . ASAP.
I’m really tired of Danielle and her “valley girl” ways. Her voice grates on my nerves and all she does is whine and complain. She says no one takes her seriously. Well, duh. Look how you act!
I’m not sure I don’t believe all these reality shows are rigged to get a certain outcome anyway. If you watch BBAD on Showtime and then watch the shows on CBS, CBS definitely slants what it shows in order to present certain contestants in a certain light.
I’m tired of watching beer pong, too. It’s sooooo boring!
Dick says he’ll use the veto to take Danielle off the block. He’s definitely up to something, though. For weeks, he’s been nothing but confrontational and rude. Now, all of a sudden, he’s being friendly, watching the games being played, offering friendly banner. . . even if he is stealing people’s clothes and hiding food. He’s just weird! I hope either Dick or Danielle goes this week, then the other the next and then Dustin and Eric.
My pick to win the game is Jessica. She’s playing a beautiful game . . . staying in the background enough not to draw attention to her at nomination time, but staying out front enough to be the “swing” vote and, therefore, considered important. Well done!

Dick and Zach are playing with all the HG sitting around the counter eating. The show is amazing!!! Dustin is NOT getting worried. He is talking to Eric outback and asking him what HE things. Eric is reassuring him that there is NO worries, because Dustin will have the tie-breaker vote, BUT, Dick has the right to campaign for the votes. Eric just said he doens have him, Jemeka or Jessica’s vote. Dustin just asked if he (Dustin) should be campaigning for votes and Eric said no not to waste his time. NOW, is Eric just getting him to shut up, planning to evict him anyway? Eric and Dustin are trying to bait Dick into some kind of an argument now and that after they had a GREAT social time during the beer-pong game. There obvious lies being told and people are ALL playing each other and it’s impossible to read where any allegiances are going!!! But, everytime Dusting talks with Dick around his words are LOADED with sarcasm. Even though Eric told him not to bother campaigning, you KNOW he will be kicking it into 5th gear. Zach expressed how much he hates Zach and would do anything to get him out. Dustin is going to dye his hair black and Eric is wanting to cut his hair tonight. OK I KNOW that Eric has been warned from the DR about talking about his DR sessions. NOW let me ask THIS. Eric is going way out of his way to do everything BUT campaign to get Dustin OUT. He seems to be setting the stage so sollidly there there could be no going back - which surprises me considering he KNOWS what America has told him to do. What is the consequence for him just blatantly NOT doing as he has been instructed? Does anyone know? I’m pretty sure Eric doesn’t even vote. That’s America’s vote, and he doesn’t even get a say in it … in other words, that’s the deal he’s struck with CBS, so if he were to go into the Diary Room and say, “Uh, I don’t want to follow America’s vote,” they would say, “And, you are … ?”

NO NO sooner, what I am saying is - yes he realizes what he has to do - but in the day-to-day of the situation,he isn’t doing what it would take to reach that end of Dustin going home. Right now he’s doing everything he can to set up Dustin to stay and making sure the OTHER votes go that way - so that although HE may vote out Dustin, Dustin will be able to stay because Eric has campaigned, behind the scenes (and I’m guessing not realizing he’s being watched) to make sure that without his vote Dustin will still stay and Dick WILL go. SO, in otehr words, HE WILL vote Dustin out - but he has made sure Dustin has enough votes to make sure Dustin will be safe. Doesn’t that sound a bit like DIRTY POOL??? I’d think the producers would be calling him aside and reminding him that he isn’t doing the job of getting Dustin’s out - BUT is the agreement ONLY Eric’s VOTE and NOT his working to get Dustin out?

For every challenge that Eric meets from America he gets $10,000. He FAILED with the challenge to ignore Jessica, so he lost THAT one. NOW, the NEXT challenge is to vote off Dustin. Lisa I agree with you completely. Yes Eric has no choice in the casting of his voe but the question is “Who do you want Eric to get evicted?”. This means Eric is not doing his job and persuading the rest of the house to vote with him (America). And him choosing to give Jess the cold shoulder by staying in bed all day. I’m sorry but I don’t belive CBS should have allowed that, although they did mark it failed. Eric is NOT America’s player, he plays the way he wants to “and that’s that!”.
I can’t wait to see what the excitement is about Dick’s discovery. I really want him to stay in the house, he just keeps everyone on their toes and calls it like it is.
Amber and Jameka have to go, no doubt it. And please….whoever wins the next HoH….don’t let them anywhere near the HoH room!!
On a side note, when you watch Amber and Jameka eat are you reminded of cows chewing their cud as I am??

I wonder if it really is a “Coup d’etat”…my opinion would be that it was only a twist for the All Star’s competition last season (Big Brother 7). If it was going to be a part of Big Brother season 8, my thoughts would be that CBS would promote the crud out of it to help ratings!
Seems there is a lack of solid information….but rumors are rumors and the sure can be fun!
If I were to guess…I would guess it was either a prize or maybe something new…

Wow, an alliance possibility between Eric-Jessica-Dick-Daniele-Zach? I like that. Honestly, Zach would probably be the first to go. It’s finally getting interesting. As much as I’d like to see Jessica, Jen or Jameka win in the end, I’m leaning more towards Jessica, with Jen in a close 2nd.
A coup’de’tat sounds nice, if its the case however, Dick, if its a coup’de’tat like power, should overthrow Jessica (to hide alliance possibility), put Amber(the pawn) as replacement and evict Dustin(the master). Let them evict Dustin in total poetic justice.
Finally its getting exciting, after 2 weeks of boredom(Carol and Joe), then 3 weeks of going back and forth, backstab and betrayal (Nick, Mike and Kail).
I’d personally like to see Kail get back in the house. I liked her. She just played the game wrong.

Anyway I did read “these” posts and it was starting to sound like the LNC around here, hence my post to spread hate and discontent.lol So once more, I hate you all and hope you are very uncomfortable. It was very hard this season to find someone to root for, but now I am behind Daniele and Dick to win. I’ve read this on other blogs– that Dick found something– a quote, not from Alice in Wonderland– but the sequal Through The Looking Glass– Alice in Wonderland has a card theme but Through the looking glass has a chess theme. The quote Dick read was from the book– in the book Alice becomes a pawn in the chess game and she is captured by the Red Queen but the White Knight comes to resque her– Sounds like the power of veto– the power to save someone– however the big twist was suppose to come in week 7 so maybe the power can’t be used this week– I’m sure it will all be edited to appear that Dick found it on Thursday just before votes– and gives it to Daniel. If any of this is true– there is no video that I am aware of– I’ve read that Dick took the message to Daniel and Jen– so Jen knows about the potential power that Daniel has. Depending on who you like in the show this could be key– if true both Daniel and Jen are in a powerful situation– Daniel with the veto and Jen with the info on who has it. PLEASE…. I am sooooo tired of Dani I could scream. She talks about everyone in the house like she is miss righteous, and she more faces than anyone in that house. Dick is Dick and I dont care if he stays or goes….his immature behavior will continue until the day he leaves the house. BUT DANI….omg….”she’s so frustrating”….”no one understands”….I AM SO VERY OVER HER I COULD SLIT MY WRISTS. If there is such a thing as a coup detat, then I will know that CBS has seriously manipulated the show, and ME and YOU!… Go Jessica and Jen!

Jacque, I totally agree with you. I really feel that CBS is truly manipulating the show. If they manage to find a way to keep Dick, they keep their ratings. In the outside world, Dick would never last in a normal social setting. His daughter is mindless, a twit who constantly whines, and totally insecure. In the end, it is ratings that count, and people like Dick make ratings. To quote Amber, “So sad!”

Ok . . . here’s some more 411:
Dick found a chess piece that refers back to Eric being the “pawn” in play (or that is how I interpreted it).
There is an appearance by the Mad Hatter who passes along several pearls of wisdom:
“Three can keep a secret only if two are dead.”
“A stitch in time saves nine.”
“Fish and visitors stink after 3 days.”
The Mad Hatter also told Jameka to beware of Dani specifically. He said not to trust Dani.
Eric approached Dani last night to enter into the Fearless Foursome alliance with him and Jessica and Dick. She was very receptive. Eric has to vote Dustin out tonight as America’s Player - so it looks like Dustin is going to be backdoored and goes home.
Everyone is trying to decipher the Mad Hatter’s comments. . . everyone except Dick and Dani. I tell ya, they know something they are definitely NOT telling.

I agree, they know something. I know I am being repetitive, but it is CBS desperately in need of keeping the rating. They need Dick and his mindless daughter to stay.
I thought it was a game of strategy by the players. It appears more and more to be a game guided by the network to keep the people they want.
I hope I am wrong, but I don’t think so.

I think that Dick and Danielle found out about America’s Player. Dick now understanding that Eric’s hands were tied, could more easily rejoin forces.
