3 Houseguests Battle for HoH

OK…so I am going to be honest. I have not been watching Big Brother tonight. The reason is I almost do not have to since the best information is contained in all of the comments to these blog posts! :)

First off I would like to appologize for the site being down tonight. It seems that since there is a live HoH competiton that after the show on CBS is done….people want to know what is going on. Well….everyone came to Big-Brother-Blog.com and thus crashed my server. Well…not so much crashed it but made my hosting company so worried that they had to suspend my site for melting the server. After 3 hours of phone calls and chatting I was able to tell them to bring them back up. I am going to be upgrading the servers to make sure these last 7 days are outage free!

As far as the HoH competition, I know the following (and since I am not watching could be WAY WRONG). Daniele is out and broke a rabbit. (I have no clue what that even means) I know Zach and Dick are at each others throats and still each have a hand on a key. I know Dick had to piss really bad and almost wet himself.

If you want more info….please read the comments below! Thank you for being here and I promise Ryan will update the blog tomorrow with a much better post then this.

Comment away….

Peace, BBBlogger

Final 4 Update: HoH Named, Nominations Made, Secret Deal Reached

As most of you have been discussing, the Big Brother 8 Final Four now has its HoH and nominees. So, for those of you who don’t know, guess who is guaranteed a spot in the Final 3?

Zach. He’s the new HoH.

I’ve told folks before how much Kendra from The Apprentice impressed me in Season 3, floundering around under the radar and then kicking butt when it counted. Zach is doing the same thing right now.

His first line of business was to nominate the Donatos, which has sent them into a tizzy. They’ve gone from lovin’ Zach to hating him, just like that. And, they know that one of them must win Saturday’s PoV, otherwise, Daniele is almost sure to be gone.

Meanwhile, Zach and Jameka have made a Final 2 deal.

Wow, this just has my head spinning. Zach the floater, and Jameka — who believes the game was preordained from the beginning — might be our finalists.

On the other hand, if either Dick or Daniele wins, Jameka is headed home. That’s a guarantee, and it’s almost a certainty that if Dick or Daniele were to win the next HoH, they’d take the other one with them.

With that said, if my logic is right, and I’m understanding the house vibe right now, our finale will be either Dick vs. Daniele or Jameka vs. Zach. Period. Them’s the combinations.

Agree? Disagree? Is this a disappointment? Or do you think something will change between now and Tuesday?

Nominations Made: Jessica’s First Time

Zach had been pretty transparent in terms of who he planned to nominate in his first stint as HoH, and on Friday, he fulfilled that plan by putting Jessica and Jameka on the block.

Jess’ reaction? She apparently was peeved because she told Zach to be a man and look her in the eye when he nominated her. Little do they know, the real plan is to back-door Eric.

And little do they know that Dani is workin’ Zach something fierce, trying to work out a deal to save her and her father this week.

Could be an interesting 24 hours in the Big Brother house!

Zach Attack, Double Eviction & More!

The plan was for Jessica, Eric, Dick and Daniele to go to the Final Four together.

But, what can we say? Zach happens.

After Amber was bounced from the Big Brother 8 house Thursday night by a 3 to 1 vote, the houseguests embarked on a tortuous little game of fill-the-giant-bowl-with-liquid-a-teacup-at-a-time until a ball floating atop the water could be picked out of a small orifice covering the bowl.

Zach didn’t dominate, but he did win, and we’re left to wonder whether the houseguests regret ousting Amber given that she would have sucked at this. C’mon. Top models aren’t good with endurance challenges.

Top that with the knowledge that next Thursday is a double live eviction, and I’m almost certain the Little Julie Chens are blown up this week. First and foremost, I am pretty sure Zach nominates Jessica for sure.

He might go after Eric right off the bat, or he might try to backdoor him. We could be in for another instance of a PoV winner using the PoV on somebody but himself if Jess and Eric were to go on the block and Eric were to win the PoV. Seriously, those kids are a bit goo-goo for each other.

If you asked me, I say Zach has to go after Dick and Daniele. We are facing the very real possibility that Dick and Daniele are the two finalists, which I think is a wet dream for CBS in terms of drama. But, me? I’m not a fan of either, although I recognize that if somebody doesn’t do something soon to split them up, they will be impossible to beat in the final stages.

My hunch also is that the interest level on the feeds will go up dramatically as the level of not knowing also rises. Zach’s a wildcard, and this could get very interesting if he opens himself up to the strategic maneuverings of a desperate house.

Nominations Made: From A(mber) To Z(ach)

Does anybody else feel like we’re starting into the home stretch of BB8? Do you realize we have only 24 days left this season?

If you don’t know by now, Amber and Zach were nominated for eviction by new HoH Jessica. This upset Zach a bit, but he really believes he’s not the target this week.

If you’re asking me, I don’t think Jess really has a “target.” Nevertheless, Zach said he wasn’t mad about the nom, but why would he declare his rage, if he had any, this soon into the week?

In lieu of a food competition this week, the houseguests played a luxury comp that involved nudity. I’m scouring for video; I’m good like that. We’ll see.

We know that some of the women won clothes. I know nothing about any of the guys winning anything, but I could be wrong. What I have been able to figure out is that Amber’s breasts apparently look like pyramids.

This came from Eric, whose relationship with Jessica took a turn for the serious on Friday. We also know now why Eric said what he said to Jen on the way out the door during the live eviction Thursday night. The skinny is that Jen started telling people that Eric has a girlfriend back home.

We know at this point that there was a pregnancy scare in one of his relationships a couple years ago.

We also know that he has had a long-distance relationship with somebody, although I heard that second-hand.

But for as much as I came to Jen’s defense, insomuch as I declared how amusing she could be, I have to say that this annoys me somewhat. In the HoH room, Eric did the typical nerdy guy thing where he notes the obvious — that he’s nerdy and she’s hot.

Jess said that, for her, it’s way more about personality, adding that she’s seen his boyz, meaning that she knows “what she’s getting herself into.” She added that she never would have thought she would develop feelings for anybody in the house, one of the first times she’s acknowledged to Eric verbally what she’s said for weeks now non-verbally.

In terms of strategy, there is some buzz heating up that the D&D/J&E alliance could come to a crashing halt if either Amber or Zach gets pulled off via Saturday’s PoV. Why? Jessica ain’t putting up Jameka. Not a chance.

She’ll put up Dick, and Dick will go home. Promise.

Here’s why I think this. Based on the conversations and posts and your discussions and the videos I’ve seen, I’m not 100 percent sure that right now, in this stage of the game, that Dick would even have his daughter’s vote.

It’s not a matter that she now “hates” her dad, even though they have bickered the past couple of days. It’s that Daniele seems to have a clearer and clearer vision of the end. Of winning. And, I don’t think she wants it to come down to a jury picking between her and E.D.

On a side note, before BB8 totally winds down, we want to invite you to our new Web venture: must-read-tv.com. It’s a blog devoted to information and conversation among tv geeks — those of us who like reality television, those of us who like scripted shows, those of us who watch game shows, TV news, soap operas, whatever.

We want your comments, and we want your participation. If you have a show or subject you’re passionate about, and you can assemble a sentence, let us know. Truth is, this blog is nothin’ without you guys commenting and arguing and speculating and laughing about a show that eats up two months of boob-tube (and beyond) viewing each year.

So, if you just want to check us out, that’s cool. We’re just getting started.

However, we’re open to written participation. Heck, maybe you have a YouTube account and want to do a video blog each week about your favorite show. Cool. Seriously, like the houseguests say, “whatev!”

***

My questions to you guys this fine Saturday:

1. Do you think Dick will get backdoored?

2. Who do you think the houseguests would evict between Amber and Zach?

3. Do you think that once the show is over and Jessica is watching it back … do you think she’ll still “like” Eric the way she does now? Will she like him more? Or, will she want nothing to do with him?

Big Brother Backdoor At It Again! Jen Nominated

One of the great things about Big Brother is the Power of Veto. Even if the HoH wins it, he or she can use it to trump their initial nominations in lieu of something more certain because, face it, the backdoor nomination always goes home, right?

Well, Jen Johnson’s time to head to jury could be two days from now.

Amber traded one week of Daniele’s safety next week should she win HoH if Daniele would hook her up this week. What Amber didn’t know was that Daniele planned to do this anyway … That Daniele is a smart cookie. Nevertheless, the two of them were slated to spend some time together outside the house (overnight, even) as part of a prize they won from BB.

Look, Daniele’s target was Jen the entire time, and everything on Daniele’s birthday week is just coming up roses. Her dad stayed. She got a letter from Nick. She won PoV. She won a trip outside the house, and … she pretty much got to pick the evictee this week … Jen.

Considering Jameka cannot win HoH for at least two more weeks, she’s 100 percent safe for now. Why anybody would vote to evict Jameka, strategically, at this point is beyond logic. Jen isn’t really aligned with anybody steadfastly, and she competes well enough to be a threat. Unfortunately for those of us who like a little suspense, this is as close to a slam dunk as we could possibly get.

Right now, in fact, it would be unanimous, 5-0.

Unless America tells Eric to evict Jameka, it will be unanimous. At least America allowed him to give his Woobie to Jessica. I’m tellin’ ya’, he gives the nerds of the world hope because I could 100 percent stalk that woman.

I kid. I kid.

Jen is quite disappointed at what has transpired, but there’s nothing she can do. She did tell Dick that there was no way either he or Daniele would have her vote, to which he replied that she should quit pouting. By the way, it was the first time I’ve seen Mr. Donato inside the gym.

With everything going right for the birthday girl, you’d think she was actually “Alice” in Wonderland …

Anyhoo, do you think there’s any chance Jen survives this? I don’t, but we’ll open the online diary room tomorrow to let you guys cast an official ballot.

Nominations Made: Bad News For Bible Belt

In an expected move, HoH Daniele nominated the twosome we’ve come to know as the Bible Belt — Amber and Jameka. It’s Amber’s second time on the block, after her nomination in Week 1, but it’s the first for Jameka.

As things stand now, Daniele’s hope is that one of them wins the PoV so she can back-door Jen. Jen doesn’t know about this, and from all accounts would be devastated given that she believes Dani likes her. So, as it’s been the past several weeks, there’s a good chance the Bible Belt won’t be split up at all.

The intrigue over the next couple of days will center on the reaction from Amber and Jameka. Amber’s taken to an extremely somber disposition, spending most of her time in bed on the verge of tears. On the other hand, Jameka has kept a relatively positive outlook.

What will also be interesting is whether the other PoV contestants will actually heed Dani’s wishes should they win. And will this be Eric’s first PoV competition?

Which of these two would you most like to see go home? Or, would you prefer another houseguest to get backdoored? Right now, it looks like the only backdoor options are Jen or Zach, but perhaps you see this playing out differently?

Done Deal: It’s Dick vs. Dustin

Something’s brewing in the Big Brother house, and we could be in store for another week of high drama. As of about an hour ago, Dick took his daughter off the block, and Jessica replaced Daniele with Dustin.

It was Dustin who initially suggested he be put up, as a pawn to Dick. In fact, Dustin bragged about how he would have a speech ready come Thursday night, a soliloquy in which he’d proclaim himself the courtesy flush to Dick’s “piece of crap.”

Uh, you might want to hold it there, buddy.

Because if this vote were to go down right now, the 22-year-old salesman from Chicago might be headed out the door. What makes for even higher drama is that while Dustin would have never believed this initially, he’s starting to believe it now. His doubts about Eric’s vote caused him to rethink his suggestion, a move that drew a cool response from his LNC-leftover buddies.

“So, why you wanna change your mind like that?”

If America votes to have Eric vote to evict Dustin, then Dustin’s concerns will have been well-founded. I predict Dustin will be in bad shape by Thursday.

Let the drama begin.

Dick Wins PoV, Plans To Save … Them Both?

For those of you who don’t know by now, evel Dick was Saturday’s PoV winner, part of a competition involving croquet and gross drinks.

Good news for evel Dick fans, right?

Well, not exactly. It appears he’ll use it to save Daniele, which is the nice, fatherly thing to do. However, I don’t know that I’d discount Dick just yet.

There are only six votes this week, and Dick on the block automatically has Daniele. I suspect strongly he’ll have Eric’s, too. Love him or hate him, Dick is popular with America, and I can’t imagine they’d make Eric vote to evict Dick.

What I’m suggesting here is that Dick automatically has two votes in my book. One more, and you’ve got a big decision for Jessica. Two more, and Dick and Daniele have pulled off a stunning week of survival.

As of 1:15 BBT, all’s pretty quiet in the Big Brother house. Last I saw, Zach was on a treadmill, and Dick was outside smoking. However, the master of evel is working to plant the seeds of dissension between Eric and Dustin.

He is working to secure Zach as an ally, and even Daniele has been pretty nice to him.

And the D&D relationship with Jen isn’t nearly as bad as it used to be.

What Dick must do is to set the groundwork for Jessica to put up Dustin as a pawn this week. Dustin wants it, has practically begged for it, and he thinks that it would come back a 6-0 vote to evict Dick.

He’s wrong. So, we’re at a crossroads for the Nerd Herd. If Jessica puts Dustin up, it spells the beginning of the end for this group because being on the block is highly stressful and conducive to what I’d call “panic speech.” Dustin could be prone to digging himself a hole from which he couldn’t climb.

Bottom line, presuming Dick doesn’t use the PoV on himself, I think Dick goes home if Jessica puts up Jen or Zach. However, let Jessica put Dustin up, and I betcha, just betcha, we’ll have an exciting live vote come Thursday.

Nominations Made; Donatos On Block

At this point in the game, those of us who follow the Big Brother 8 house aren’t terribly surprised by anything. Again this week, the nomination ceremony produced expected results.

The Donato family is on the chopping block.

As far as Dick’s concerned, there is no way he’d campaign against his daughter. However, in this clip (at the end of this post), Dustin again reiterates that he’d be willing to go up as a pawn in the event that Daniele wins PoV on Saturday, completely discounting the possibility I suppose that Dick could win it.

Eric agrees, and per discussions earlier in the day between Eric and Zach, it’s pretty clear that America has requisitioned America’s Player to get Dustin nominated. However, Eric did say he’d like to see Dustin “squirm.”

In my estimation, this is going to come back to haunt Eric this week. Not saying he’d get put up on the block by his “best friend,” Jessica, but it’s the type of unwarranted extra comment that could splinter the Nerd Herd. I mean, c’mon, if America wants Dustin nominated, and Dustin is clearly cool with it, why add the extra “so I can see him squirm” part?

On the Big Brother smoking porch, Dick tells Zach to look out for Daniele when he’s gone. While Dick won’t campaign against his daughter, I don’t think he’ll go quietly either. Furthermore, I think abstaining from campaigning might backfire in that, if the houseguests really wanted to torture him, they’d evict Daniele in the face of his resignation.

Meanwhile, the Bible Belt is back at it, with Jameka talking about how God can forgive anything and holding a Bible study with Amber. Amber took some time this afternoon to pray — and if I can find this clip, I’ll post it. I’m told it was humorous to say the least.

But for now, a bit of strategy talk before “girls night” commences. Jessica has invited all the BB women to the HoH room for good times, vino and discussions of existential philosophy and post-modern literature.
