Dick vs. Jen: It’s War.

Jen’s nominated, and now she’s gone scorched earth.

First, she’s eating regular food, which I suppose would have earned her a penalty nom. I wouldn’t be surprised if she walked before Thursday. Seriously.

Second, she consults with the diary room about destroying Dick’s cigarettes. DR says she can hide ‘em but not destroy ‘em. Alas, considering she’s going the scorched earth route, she’s taking the Clorox to his Marlboro reds.

Sacrilege!

BB steps in apparently and saves three cartons, or perhaps they replaced his destroyed cigs with new ones. I can’t tell. However, at this point, it’s war, and she isn’t going to leave the Big Brother house quietly.

At one point, Jen grabs a smoke from Dick’s hand darn nearly causing a fistfight on the porch. The feeds went to trivia, and Showtime went to black. However, the feeds came back, and Dick turned on his charm in one of the funnier videos (sorry, it’s mean but it’s funny) this season.

Something’s Going Down: Little People, Quartets, Weirdness …

Lisa has kept everybody abreast of some of the goings on at the house this afternoon. Apparently, a little person of some sort went around the house reciting phrases like “a snitch in time saves nine,” making folks think this could be a non-elimination round.

On the outside, a singing quartet starts crooning to “I’m Just Wild About Harry,” an old standard from back in the day (1930s?). There’s somebody on stilts, and everybody looks bewildered.

A snitch in time saves nine … ? What do you think it is? A banner that flew by giving away a twist? A rogue producer telling too much? OK, while you think about it, I did snag a video of the barbershop quartet. Enjoy and discuss.

Pre-PoV Warm-Up Party — Dick vs. Jameka, Part III

We’re not far from the PoV competition, and evel Dick is workin’ it, getting into people’s heads. Just a few minutes ago BBT, he taunted Jameka while she was getting breakfast and got up right in her face. Good times.

Dick also spared no punches with Dustin, and in all — this li’l clip is pretty humorous. To me, it’s pretty clear that this type of taunting is strategic. We’re just an hour away from PoV. Jameka’s been picked to play. Whether it works or not, stick right here at big-brother-blog.com to find out, or sign up to get e-mail notices whenever something new gets posted.

As far as everything else in the house, the women did show some solidarity last night, giving hope to the notion that the LNC leftovers could be splintered soon. Talk of Dustin being used as a pawn has quieted, and talk of Jen being that person (pawn or not) has warmed to at least a simmer.

So, given that we have some time to kill until the PoV is done, please enjoy another fine Dick Donato highlight from the Big Brother house.

Nominations Made; Donatos On Block

At this point in the game, those of us who follow the Big Brother 8 house aren’t terribly surprised by anything. Again this week, the nomination ceremony produced expected results.

The Donato family is on the chopping block.

As far as Dick’s concerned, there is no way he’d campaign against his daughter. However, in this clip (at the end of this post), Dustin again reiterates that he’d be willing to go up as a pawn in the event that Daniele wins PoV on Saturday, completely discounting the possibility I suppose that Dick could win it.

Eric agrees, and per discussions earlier in the day between Eric and Zach, it’s pretty clear that America has requisitioned America’s Player to get Dustin nominated. However, Eric did say he’d like to see Dustin “squirm.”

In my estimation, this is going to come back to haunt Eric this week. Not saying he’d get put up on the block by his “best friend,” Jessica, but it’s the type of unwarranted extra comment that could splinter the Nerd Herd. I mean, c’mon, if America wants Dustin nominated, and Dustin is clearly cool with it, why add the extra “so I can see him squirm” part?

On the Big Brother smoking porch, Dick tells Zach to look out for Daniele when he’s gone. While Dick won’t campaign against his daughter, I don’t think he’ll go quietly either. Furthermore, I think abstaining from campaigning might backfire in that, if the houseguests really wanted to torture him, they’d evict Daniele in the face of his resignation.

Meanwhile, the Bible Belt is back at it, with Jameka talking about how God can forgive anything and holding a Bible study with Amber. Amber took some time this afternoon to pray — and if I can find this clip, I’ll post it. I’m told it was humorous to say the least.

But for now, a bit of strategy talk before “girls night” commences. Jessica has invited all the BB women to the HoH room for good times, vino and discussions of existential philosophy and post-modern literature.

Video Wrap-Up: Dick vs. Jameka (It’s War)

Wow. Not sure what to say about this video, these first two videos to be exact. In two parts, Jameka and Amber give Dick a taste of his own medicine. In true Dick fashion though, he doesn’t back down one iota.

It makes for great theater, but I should warn you — neither of these first two videos is safe for work. Totally NSFW. Too many “magic words” used, so hide the kiddies. In fact, the magic word gets used, and in my experience, any man who uses this word toward a woman should be prepared for wrath.

However, that doesn’t mean Jameka or Amber were taking the high ground. This is ugliness all around. Good theater, but I don’t actually recall Big Brothers of the past getting THIS ugly. Do you?

Here’s the second part of the tirade, but I should note that Jameka is now planning to apologize to Dick for her behavior. Honestly, while there was a bit of schaudenfreude in seeing her go off on Dick, this is Jameka’s M.O. She blows up, flips and then regrets it later — classic passive/aggressive, no?

Perhaps she’s just psycho. Perhaps Dick had it coming. You tell us (in the comments forum).

The rest of the Nerd Herd sat outside and in the hot tub in hopes of keeping Dick from coming out to smoke. If he does though, believe this, it will be ugly because the house is at war. War.

Here’s Part 2 of Dick vs. Jameka.

In this third video from tonight, Dick tries to console Daniele, reminding her what a good competitor she is and, frankly, being a good dad (well, at least in this video).

Finally, in a lighter moment, new HoH Jessica shows off her room. Notice the look on Eric’s face when she says she’ll wear her sexy boots she got from Big Brother with a skirt.

Live Feed Fun - Jessica’s Nominations Decided?

Newly crowned HoH Jessica gathers with the Nerd Herd in one of the BB8 bedrooms, and she and Jameka and Amber (and, eventually Eric) discuss nominations. Seems obvious who Jessica will put on the block, right?

Live Feed Fun: Dustin, Eric Do The Happy Dance

About an hour after the live eviction, Dustin calls Eric into the storage room. What happens is reminiscent of Will and Boogie — they do the HAPPY DANCE!

And they plot. And they promise to go to war. And … and … they’ll probably hate each other in two days, but anyway, here’s the first post-eviction live feed of the night. There will be more to come.

House Divided: A Case For Kail, A Case For Eric

Not only has the Big Brother house become a house divided this week, but so has the BB8 television and live-feed watching universe.

Most of you have expressed your disdain with Eric and Dustin for their manipulation and deception. There was an uproar today when Eric told Jessica a deep, dark secret from Amber about some abortions she had and some pregnancies she had lied about to her boyfriend.

However, I didn’t see any outrage a few days ago when Amber referred to New York Jews as greedy money-grubbers. Seems to me one of the British players from a season ago was ditched by Big Brother for using the “N” word, and my friends, Amber’s sentiment ain’t far behind. Is telling a secret to another houseguest actually less socially acceptable than the blatantly anti-Semitic stereotype?

I’d argue that one is within the context of the game, and the other is just bigoted.

Bottom line: This ain’t a pretty game, and none of our houseguests are angels. So, let’s get to business. Who’s going home?

Unless something riveting happens on Wednesday, Kail is evicted at least 4-3, possibly 5-2. However, what are the pros of keeping each houseguest from the other players’ perspectives?

Kail I’ll be honest. I like Kail. She might be about the most genuine person in the house. That she hasn’t connected with the other houseguests is a direct result of her terrible decision to align with three strangers on Day 1.

However, Dick and Zach and Jen should work with Jameka to get a fourth vote in favor of the Oregon mother with the promise that Kail won’t nominate them or Daniele the next week, which is quite possibly a double-eviction week.

Oh, wait. Kail can’t even compete for the HoH for five weeks. Yikes, that’s a deal-killer. However, Kail can still compete for PoVs, and she’s a solid competitor. She’s good with physical challenges, particularly.

Oh yeah, and Jameka has already promised her vote to Eric.

I’ll be honest. I can’t quite figure out how Kail’s retention benefits the other contestants now that she can’t be HoH until like the Final 5. However, if you know, post a comment.

Eric I like Eric, too. He’s nerdy, and I have zero doubt that outside the confines of this game, he’s a stellar individual, as opposed to a certain 44-year-old bar manager. Just a hunch. Nevertheless, Eric’s true game colors have come out this week, and you guys pummeled him deservedly.

He’s desperate. He’s lied. He’s spread secrets. It’s so obvious, too.

However, Dustin, Jameka and Jessica need Eric to be able to compete with Dick and Daniele and any possible friendships they might make. So, their effort to save Eric and their success, should they be successful, will likely be rewarded by a week of lapdogdom from the 27-year-old New Yorker.

Finally, I would submit to you that the Nerd Herd needs Eric more than Dick and Daniele need Kail. While there’s always the chance of a vote or two shifting on something insignificant like a mean word said during a croquet game or a fart in the shower, there is a recognition on the part of Dustin, Jessica, Amber and Jameka that they had better wage war with Dick and Daniele now while the wagin’ is good or be slain in their path.

They need Eric to do that. They need the vote, and Eric clearly gets under Dick’s skin.

For your enjoyment, a little game discussion Tuesday night between Dustin and Jessica.
