Brian Evicted From Big Brother House; Jessie Wins HoH

Did you think for a minute or two that Brian might survive? Boy, I did!

Wednesday night’s Big Brother live eviction was full of illusions. What looked to be a near-unanimous vote to evict Brian seemingly evolved into what could have ended up as a 5-5 tie.

To reset: HoH Jerry put Brian on the block, replacing Jessie the PoV winner, after the entire house demanded it.

Why did the house demand this?

Long story short: Libra and April sniffed out an alliance among Brian, Dan and Ollie, an alliance that was gunning to put Memphis on the block. On one hand, this was superb intuition on the part of Libra and April. On the other, this was a dead giveaway on Ollie’s part given that he was assuring the women that they were safe and that “Memphis was gone.”

To save his hide, Ollie helped stage an intervention with Jerry, who at one time felt betrayed by Brian but also pressured by the masses. Everybody but Dan and Steven insisted on Brian’s nomination.

But soon after Jerry did the deed, Brian decided to turn into Mr. Nice Guy, involving Steven, Memphis and Angie in a sock puppet show, mocking Brian’s mistakes in a surprisingly entertaining yet self-depricating manner. The Renny puppet, complete with head adornment, was quite hilarious.

Brian tried to play to the house’s sense of fun, hopefully planting in their minds how “not fun” it might be to not have him around. And, this nearly worked …

Angie worked Keesha, who in turn darn near got into a fight with April after she confronted ye of real boobs in the back yard about the apparent turning of the house. I think somebody called somebody else a liar.

Don’t you just love my grasp of details? I was just mesmerized by the possibility of hair-pulling, clawing and wrestling.

It still could happen. A boy can dream.

However, as we BB fans have seen time and time again, all this plotting and last-minute, 11th hour possibility turned into the realization that to split the house down the middle would expose certain houseguests the next week. That’s why it was no surprise that the house voted 9 to 1 to evict Brian.

Think about it. Everybody knew Dan would vote to save his ally, Brian. However, was Steven going to stand alone as No. 2? He could have given that he didn’t join the others in demanding Brian’s head on a platter in the Jerry intervention.

Angie and Keesha certainly didn’t follow through with their votes, and I suspect the house figures out how the vote will go down such that if it’s going to be 6 to 4 that it might as well be 9 to 1 for at least the appearance of consensus.

It’s best not to stand out too early, and that was most certainly Brian’s downfall although I will also admit to liking Brian more as the week went on. Nevertheless, he was clearly in dead-man-walking mode.

Head of Household Comp

Before I get to the comp, I have to say: Love, love, love the live audience. Totally gives eviction night the feel of a weekly event. Julie Chen chatted up Brian. The houseguests said their goodbyes, and Brian said he thinks Memphis has what it takes to win the whole shooting match.

Then the houseguests gathered in the back for HoH No. 2.

The game was one of guessing which way the majority would vote. Julie asked questions, and the houseguests had to avoid being in the minority. After several questions, Libra, Angie, Ollie and Jessie were left to guess how many pillows were used in the Sweet Dreams PoV competition.

And, Jessie, our bodybuilder from Iowa won.

And, Jessie still hates Renny. During the live show, he noted that Renny — to get respect — had to give respect. Given that she could have been evicted, Renny was quite laid back, noting that he should learn to do the same. Oh, kids. Bicker. Bicker.

In all honesty: I’ve talked up Renny quite a bit the first few days of BB10, but I want to see her inner Dick Donato come out. If she’s going to be refined and dull, then I’m not interested. Renny seems potentially like a volatile, strong, well-spoken N’awlins belle who takes no crap.

So, color me disappointed with her semi-diplomatic approach.

She is sure to be a target this week, although Sheila and Adam were at each other’s throats for awhile during BB9 and survived to the very end. I’m not sure I see that happening between Jessie and Renny.

Given this li’l tet-a-tet between J&R and given Jessie’s comments regarding old folks in general, I suspect he’s putting Renny and Jerry on the block. Given that (boy I’m using the term “given” a lot, no?) Jerry and Renny aren’t really up to physical competition, I’ll guess that a PoV win isn’t in their future.

So, if I may be so bold as to break out the crystal ball: I think we’re looking at one of the geriatric two leaving the house this week. Before we all get convinced one way or the other, I’d like to remind you all that the great evel Dick faced his biggest challenge in the second week.

We thought he was gone, and Dick’s win THAT week changed everything. It changed him. It changed the house, and frankly, it made BB8 the success it was.

Let’s hope this week is as interesting.

  2. Jesse is all muscle and no brain. He needs to put up Memphis before he wins anything else and maybe Dan or Steven. Leave Renny and Jerry alone. They’re no threat.

  8. Well, BBAD was Boring. The All About Jessie Show. Never guess what kind of pics he has up in his HOH room!! (The 140 lb pic looked gross!) And Thank God someone sent him two shirts. Now if he’ll just wear them!!

Jessie went around all evening, supporting “The Flock” and repeatedly saying he was putting up Dan and Angie with the plan of backdooring Steven. Of course, Michelle had to butt in to Every convo she could.

Steven was in a Major FUNK last night. He was upset about his family situation, but emerged when after a couple of hours, the DR finally gave him his prescription medicine.

Well, if Jessie was a real MAN, he would attempt to think with his BRAIN and not his MUSCLES!! (NOBODY HAD GUTS LIKE THE MASTER, E.D.!!!) He should stir
things up and put up April and Libra. Now that would start some DRAMA. But our 22 yr old Full Life Experiencer will meekly just Folllow!!!

  10. MAJOR CORRECTION!!!

Late during the night…after The Crock Flock left the HOH…Jessie managed to get alone with Memphis and Michelle to firm up their secret alliance. Later, he and Angie were conversing up in HOH. Jessie “straightened” her out, she apologized, hugs, and then…ANOTHER interruption by Michelle who was sent up by Libra to find out why Angie was up in HOH with Jessie.

So NOW…the noms stand at Dan and Renny with Steven being backdoored if POV is used.

    Sorry about that….

  14. So, speaking as a 56 year old woman - how old do you have to be to be labeled “geriatric”?? 35??

  16. I have tried but I cannot like Jesse at all. He needs to go next round, no matter what. He is arrogant, lacks respect, thinks with his muscles. I agree that I watned Brian gone buyt the week b4 he was evicted he turned out to be a lot of fun, oh well. I am focusing all my energy on getting Jesse out. I still don’t understsand why everyone is against Angie? Confused and I must of missed what happened somewhere along the line, for Angie to disliked. Keesha’s mouth / vocabulary is ridiculous.

  18. Jesse needs to put a shirt on. He’s so self absorbed in himself. Keesha has a filthy mouth. Maybe she needs to have it washed out with soap by April.

  20. FOOD COMP: Looks like it had to do with filling red wine (red dye) and retrieving red corks for the Red Team and green corks for the Green Team.

So far…on Slop: Libra (who is freaking out, cussing a storm, and demanding NOT to go to the DR), April, Keesha, Jerry, Renny, and Jessie (who is not on slop b/cuz of HOH) I’m not sure but I think Memphis was on their Red Team also.

  22. Maxine, I don’t care if Julie Chen comes out with a shaved
head. (Remember Sigourney Weaver in “ALIEN 3″), they are both “foxes” in my opinion.

I’d like to know what Jesse is going to do when he’s forced to go on slop for a week, assuming he’s still there!

  24. I would like to see April, Michelle, Libra, & Steven gone as they are real gossiping troublemakers, Jesse uses Jerry to give him intelligent advice when he knows he needs it, I don’t think Jerry or Renny are threats right now.

Yeah we’ve all seen enough of Jesse’s “steroid muscles” and his out of line abs, his abs are not straight across his chest they are staggered, Nicks didn’t line up like that ?

Angie is hard to know exactly where she stands, she’s mysterious at this point, I was shocked she actually voted for Brian’s eviction when she was trying to get votes for him to stay, so she’s one we gotta keep an eye on, I think Jerry is clearly keeping an eye on her, and not because of her looks.

That Michelle sure is a nosy broad, she’s gotta know what everybody is doing and why, and tells lies to everybody, Libra gives peoples names out, whoever tells her something, that will get her in trouble pretty soon.

  26. Carla -

I use the term “geriatric” merely as a differntiator. Heck, I’m almost 40, so I’m not THAT far away. :-) Besides, Renny is very young at heart, it seems … Heck, Jerry, too, considering he wanted to be on BB!

However, to a lot of kids in their early 20s (like Jessie), anybody over 38 or so is ancient! They just don’t realize — their day is a-comin’!!!

  28. *Bonnie* I AGREE!!

I can’t stand Michelle and wonder what Jessie/Memphis/Angie/Michelle Alliance are thinking INCLUDING her. Michelle told them that Libra sent her up to the HOH to spy and him and Angie. Don’t they realize she is a Major WEASEL!! And the way she prances/flirts with the cameras and guys are So Desperate.

I wish Jessie would have the balls to put up Libra and April!

i think april is very smart and she is going to go far in this game, keesha ugh can’t stand her ..

libra and her mouth are going to get in trouble and if memphis stays quiet like he’s doing, he will fly under the radar :)
