Big Brother Rankings: The Players, The Sleepers & The Pretenders
Alright, now that the Big Brother game is finally worth watching this season, how about the return of weekly rankings?
Yoo hoo! But first some business.
Given that the aired show skips from Wednesday to Sunday without word of nominations, food comps or Power of Veto, I’m going to risk your wrath and spill the beans on what I know.
Most of the big-brother-blog.com faithful already know this stuff via the comments on other posts or the live feeds. So, you likely know that Sharon and Chelsia are nominated for eviction.
There, I said it. Throw things if you must.
HoH Ryan has told Chelsia that she isn’t the target though. Either a backdoor scenario is happening, or Ryan and the boys (the guys have loosely aligned) are gunning for Jacob’s ex-girlfriend.
Given that the nature of the game changed from couples to individuals only a night ago, it’s like the houseguests are feeling each other out all over again. Matt and Natalie are no longer bed mates, and Sheila is sleeping alone, too.
Ryan’s personality is really starting to show through sans Jen, and the whole house is bonding.
Kum-ba-yah, my Lord. Kum-ba-yah.
In fact, as of 9:55 BBT, the house is drinking beer and having fun in the HoH room.
The two nominees, along with Sheila and Joshuah aren’t imbibing though because they lost the food competition. Heck, the guys are speculating tonight that Sheila might be going insane because of the slop, although Matt insists that she’s just going through her “change of life,” which I presume is a reference to menopause.
Speaking of “change of life,” everybody is reading the Bible. Adam has pledged to read the whole thing during his house stay, although he’ll have to read fast unless he’s to stay to the Final 3 or so.
Matt talked about reading Genesis, wondering why — if God is so good — would the creator breathe life into a serpent that would eventually cause man to fall. This is some deep stuff for our Boston roofer.
However, so far, there is no high-and-mighty preachin’ a la Amber and Jameka from Season 8.
Alas, Natalie puts a stop to the conversation and talks about her two abortions, one she had at 19. She referred to herself as “fertile Myrtle.”
Mattie, beware.
Also, and forgive me for rambling, but does Natalie not remind you of Cheri Oteri from Saturday Night Live? She does me.
Anyway, based on these superficial initial conversations, based on what we know about potential houseguests returning, based on what we know about nominations, who’s winning this bugger as of now?
I’ll divide the groups into The Players, The Sleepers and The Pretenders.
The Players include Matt, Ryan and James. Frankly, I liken Mattie to Eddie from Season 1 and a combination of Dr. Will and Dick Donato. He’s not terribly confrontational, but he’s chatty and uber-confident. And he’ll make a deal with anybody, including the devil, to win. He might even have sex with you.
Ryan is turning into the good guy of the house, and I think his popularity is soaring among fans of the show. He’s not confrontational. He’s not an imbecile. And he’s proven himself capable of winning competitions, given that he’s HoH. As of now, nobody would want to face him in the Final 2.
And Crazy Gay Porn James is a steady hand. He has an even-keeled personality and is good with both the boys and the girls, both literally and figuratively, if you catch my drift. Relative to the game, he’s a worthy ally to both the bros and the females.
Right now, I think one of these cats wins.
The Sleepers include Natalie, Adam and Chelsia.
Natalie has proven she can win that PoV, and she’s generally well-liked, even if she’s half-cocked and crazy. Her attachment to Mattie is both a good and bad thing relative to game play because he seems like he would be willing to protect her somewhat. On the other hand, her attachment could make her a target, a pawn to upset Matt’s game-play, perhaps.
Adam is a weird, weird dude. Reminds me of Zach. He’s a perfect ally for the bros because, as Sheila noted to him early Thursday, he can go have a smoke, drink a beer, cuss it up and generally get along with any guy’s guy. And, so far, he hasn’t been a purposeful game player. He’s stayed out of the fray.
He definitely needs the money given that he’s been fired from his real-life job for calling autistic kids “retards.”
Chelsia, like Nat, is built for Big Brother competitions, as she’s already been part of an HoH couple. She’s also kind of a guy’s girl, like Natalie, and it seems to me that this season is a bit slanted toward males in terms of the stronger players. I think that it’s advantageous for any of the women in the house to align with the dudes.
Theoretically, I could see a scenario where the guys pretty much annihilate the girls in the house, picking them off one by one, including Princess Josh.
He’s one of The Pretenders. Based on everything you guys have written and I’ve thought, Joshuah is the Dustin of Season 9. Not popular with America, and that usually translates to “not popular with the house.”
Sharon is in serious danger of leaving this week, so at this point, she’s a pretender. To be honest, she seems like she would have been a good fit for Season 8, like she could be really catty. I could totally see her in a cussfight with Dick.
And Sheila is totally worthless, in my humble Big Brother opinion, relative to game play. She tries, but she doesn’t really fit in too well, and she has the makings of an easy, easy kill. She’s Kail II.
If I had to rank them, it would go like this:

Quick feeds update as of 10:46 BBT: Lockdown is over, and Big Brother has installed a GIANT pool table out back, one that will certainly be used for this week’s POV.
The table has holes in the middle of it and curves all over it. It’s described as a combination of mini-golf and pool — and the whole house is out there trying to figure this bugger out.

Another BBAD update: The house is quickly dividing based on SEX as per usual…the only exceptiuons being Josh is with the girls,naturally, and Chelsia is with the guys….mostly cuz the girls don’t like her and she and James seem to still be close as she shadows him everywhere. Anyway, while the guys practice pool for the comp, the girls are planning to save Sharon and thinking of a name for themselves…Like The Women’s Murder Club. The Ex-wives club(I like that one personally). The guys decided to stay up all nite and practice so Josh offered to make a pot of coffee..altho he said he had never made one before and didnt know quite how. But they are all drinking cups of it and hyper as Hell…remind me of kids on a sugar rush! I ends with the Girls clinking cups and looking quite happy with themselves.
I totally agree with you BBB on your comparisons …especially Matt. I said from week one that reminded me of Eddie, with the evilness of Dick…your throwing in the charm of Dr. Will totally completes him! and I think your projections of longevity in the game is probably about right too. The thing i DID like about the couples is that the SEX card wasn’t played,sexes against each other. I get so tired of tha seeming to be the ONLY way these people know how to align in this game. At least when they were couples they had to be a little more creative How OLD are they anyway that it always has to be the BOYS agaisnt the GIRLS?? It’s like playground time…and everyone got emotionally stuck back there somehow!! Kind of a sad statemnet about the sexes really..are women REALLY only good for sex?? I thought we had progressed past that point but if the house is anykind of microcosm of the world…..sad statement insdeed.

OMG, finally someone else notices the cheri oteri similarities. i say it every episode. i could really see cheri oterri doing nat as an snl skit, the way she followed around mattie!! of course now it’s men v women, why don’t the women ever form a bond and stick with it, they could rule the show. ( just like the other reality show survivor) if the women would stick together they could pick the guys off. it saddens me to see how women are always second class citizens on these shows.

It is always interesting to read your take on things. I was watching BB after dark on Showtime. I’ve watched the first hour and am going to watch the rest of it shortly. I think your rankings are pretty much on the mark, however I think that any of your top 4 picks could take this thing. Mattie’s is really going to have to watch out how he plays both sides of things. I think Natalie may upset the whole boys club cart and take the whole sha bang. I actually would like to see her and Ryan in the final two. Just signed up for the 24/7 live feed last night, so I guess I will give that some view time and hopefully it is worth the money. Later, Steve.

I want Crazy James to win it all. I could care less about the gay porn. Whatever floats his boat. I like the way he plays. If not James then Chelsea. I can’t stand “Mattie”. He is a pig. ( “I’d Sleep with ya”). And frankly not that attractive.

I’m totally rooting for Ryan. He could be a chubby Kasar only with a bit less dignity (he did do Jen in the bathroom) Maybe not Kasar but he seems pretty smart. Not impulsive or out for revenge… Of course he did nominate Sharon…. can I say, why??? How much of a threat is she really. Why not stir something up. Put Matt as a pawn and get rid of him. The ladies like him, he could use them to get farther in the game and then get rid of them later. He could take them in the challenges and then apoligize to them as he picks them off one by one. I can just hear Natalie saying, “well, it’s not his fault someone had to go…”

this is where the show will FINALLY satrt to show it’s true colors…vs other yrs…this non sense of death til you part was nothing but a bleep’n fantasy…sole mate crap…the feeling out process will have to start over…guys vs gals…and chelsia and josh jumping back and forth…watch out for the quiet ones…they’ll hide in the woodwork for a couple of weeks…adam could go a long way in this game…except for sheila he has no other enemies…he’s my dark horse to take the big prise…the nose pick’n boob is gonna win it all…it’s probably a good thing since he lost his job last week…

I always liked Ryan from the beginning. I think Adam is just taking his time before he busts a move. If you move now, people form against you. I wouldnt cry if they elimated all the girls but I would love to see this in the final 3 Ryan, Adam and Matt. If you watch BBAD, Sharon is just paralyzed. She should join in with all of them and try to save some face knowing how the house shifts so quickly.
I dont think Adam can be legally fired until he gets back to work and I even think that is a smokescreen because of all the publicity it got. If you really listen to Adam, he is not an idiot even though he appears to be.
Josh is the drama, keep him a while longer, but I do not like James/Chelsia. I hope the house turns or they have enough votes to get her out and I am voting for Sharon to stay and even win the POV. I think she can do it Dani/Jannelle style.

Thrilled to see Sharon off her high horse!!!! It is the first time I have seen as a real person rather then some nasty B**** who sits there and laughs while her partner rips on people! Love how Ryan even pointed that one out last night. It is not nice to be mean to others!!!! I will celebrate when she gets kicked to the curb. All those times she said it was only a game. I would love to remind her now that it is only a game.
If they stayed as couples, I thought the gay porn partnership would have won and now I still think James will win and he might find himself up against his bed mate. I do not think Matt has a chance. the house is already onto his evil ways-:)
I still want Jen back in to rock Ryan’s game play. He is much better on his own without female distraction. Even with Alli he was distracted.

Why Chelsia? Why Sharon? What is his reasoning on these picks for eviction? I would think Sheila and Josh for now. But then again, his picks are strong players, competitors. Natalie may be playing dumb, she def can win comps!

Also Matt is a complete pig, its not right the way he treats Natalie, she might be a bimbo and not liked to well, but she don’t deserve that kind of abuse Matt gives her on a daily basis, Matt sure isn’t any kind of a prize, even though he thinks he’s God’s gift to women, he got what he wanted from Natalie, his daily blow jobs only because she was paired up with him, then threw her in the trash like used garbage, Natalie is craving for Love, and being treated like trash by this pig Matt, but I do put some blame on her too, because she lets him do it and follows him around like a lost puppy.
I hope Matt gets sent back to Boston soon, back to his so called “Boys”
I’d like to see Natalie and Ryan win this whole thing, that would be a well deserved slap in Matt’s face, a BIG HA HA Dick face!

Thurs. BBAD: (some might be repeats of above comments, but too bad)
1. YEAH!! Finally, some alcohol…..BOO!! Slop people prohibited. (which, by the way, Josh was ticked at Nat for “throwing” herself on Matt’s team. Josh was begging all day, not to be on Shelia’s team - but Nat said she just HAD to be on Mattie’s team!!)
2. Around 10 pm Nat gets P.O. at Matt telling her she’ll never be famous after the show (huh, if Oteri gets wind of Nat, she could be famous Before she gets out) and leaves HOH room, joins Shelia, Sharon, Josh and proceeds to bash Mattie to Kingdom Come.
3. S/S enjoy their “matt attack” session. Nat reveals info. and Unfortunately!!!..so does S/J/S. Josh wants to give Ryan deal to keep Ryan safe for two weeks if he’ll backdoor Matt. Nat says if she’s HOH, she’ll put two guys, one being Matt.
4. THEN LATER….Nat is SuckerPunched, once again, and reveals ALL to Matt about what was said to him.
5. PoV Pool Table Practice. No one lets Sharon practice. Finally, around midnight she does. Ryan, Adam, Chels are the best at practice. (Sure it’s going to be on a larger scale tomorrow)
6. Matt goes to HOH and tells Ryan that “his puppet had spoken” and tells of “the deal”. Matt then comments how he thinks he is like ED!
7. Josh comes up later and has a talk with Ryan. Both assured each other they were safe and Josh proceeds to offer “deal” but Ryan didn’t take it. Both discussed that Shelia is Ultimate Pawn.
8. Later….OPERATION “C” is born!! Plan: the whole house will go up to Ryan about backdooring Matt, Ryan is free for 2 wks, house votes 6 - 0 for Matt to go. This would be done after the PoV Comp. only when Matt is called into DR.
So, obviously…Natt is a great spy/puppet. If they tell her about Operation “C”, then they are stupid!! I did find it quite hilarious that out lil playah, Matt, had to j@ck off under the sheets while Natalie slept. Aw… And what the heck is wrong with Sharon. Get the heck up to the HOH room and talk to Ryan!! She can use how she was one of the only girls not to start smack with Allison, the only one to hug her 2nd time…dang, anything. You don’t just lay there and give up!! And Josh needs to move on and quit babysitting her.
hunh…if Ryan knew that there was a possibility that Alex could come back into the game…it would change everything. Matt has already admitted that the only one he really had game with was Alex. That should shake Ryry up and he would probably consider the Operation “C” deal. I would love to see it at least, be brought up so we could watch Matt’s drama of being attacked. Matt starts to talk so fast and his “eye” starts twirling!

I dont like the way Mattie treats Nattie . He does think he is gods gift to women, he needs to get over himself. He is not the great of a prize. He should take some lessons from Ryan on how to treat a lady. He thinks he will go to the end because of his good looks “Yuck ” not my type and I hope soon Nattie will see that he is not hers either .
I dont know how it will play out if Alex come back in to the house . will he be voted out and soon and he comes in or will he help the others become stronger in the game.
Only time will tell. But I do think that the guys will pick off the girl one at a time.
So the girls better get game and win the HOH comp , are bye bye the X wife club.

so i have been watching the showtime, and nattie and sheila drive me nuts. i turn it off when they are in their rants. nattie has no reason to talk crap on chels about the god thing, because when they wanted her to do a spontanous acting excerise in giving birth she spued out a G**Damn. but i thought thebest moment on the live feeds yesterday was how vunerable chels was with james in the storage room. they obviously have a connetion and get along well together. the best statagey would be to backdoor matt, especially since there is a good chance that HIS BOY alex may be coming back (but they don’t this point). and it’s funny that the theme was til death do you part and they were matched with a soulmate, and the only “couple” to consistantly have any physical contact is james and chels, but cbs has not once addressed that??

I think Ryan is a nice guy…BUT…not the sharpest tack in the box…After all-he was oblivios to the fact, that his sleezy little girfiend Jen, was backstabbing him right under his nose, and then believed her two faced lies…
BTW…Does Natalie get on anyone else’s last nerve? That chick is pathetic–chasing Matt around–talk about low self esstem…Matt may need to get a restraining order once they leave the house, as I could see this chick going postal over his rejections!

Well, it looks like Ryan has flipped. Shelia “freaked” and said that if Matt was b/d that she and Adam would be their target. (Actually, their plan was Matt, Nat, then Shelia) Then Shelia talked to Ryan and said that they would be able to get Sharon to flip so they would have the votes. Matt slept in hammock most of the afternoon. Ryan talks to Matt and Adam (don’t think he told them of the two free weeks) and they first decided they would put up Josh and now are contemplating Operation “Bummer” for James (since he bums cigs).

Sorry…No Fri. BBAD NOTES!! It was absolutely tedious and tortuous, mostly hearing Natalie drolling on and on and on….repeating, repeating, repeating, etc. You get my drift. I can’t wait till she gets on the block and is freaking becuz she knows she doesnt’ have the votes. I don’t know when that will happen, and the “Boyz” plan on keeping her and Shelia as a pawn/puppet/spy as long as they need them. If a guy comes back in, it will only strengthen the “Boyz” as he would join their alliance, but he won’t last. I hope it won’t be so cut and dry. It will make the game boring……just like last night!!
Operation “Bummer” has been changed to Operation “Tightie” (for James’ tightie whities), but I have the feeling that Ryan is flipping back and forth between James and Josh. I wish someone would fly by with a sign while the “other side” is outside that says: WATCH “BOYZ” JA/JO NOM. That way they can get a heads up and figure out a plan to spice things up.

Agree, Tina!! “Natty’s World” SUCKS!!! And Nat is such a religious hypocrite! What a stupid female!! I spent about 15 min. watching BBAD last nite and turned it off. If I had to watch one more minute of The Stupid Boyz gloating up in that HOH room anymore, I was going to hurl.
Actually, this IS what BB Producers wanted. There was too much unity…and they wanted the house divided to provide drama. What they don’t understand is….it isn’t going to work. (Well, okay, James and Josh already attacked..but once their gone?) Supposedly, Sharon is doing a good job of already flipping and there is only Josh and Chels to be taken out. The rest are united.
I can’t WAIT for Natalie to be kicked out!! When referring to her abortions, she said…and I quote…”Abortions….nobody cares about the kid when its out.” What a disgusting thing to say. But in the same breath she speaks how she’s receiving all God’s Blessings! Ugh! I just couldn’t watch/listen to her anymore. LOVED when James/Josh dumped pickle juice and water on her. But she still thot it was “Blessings!” Her and Matt?….The Court Jester and Fool!
Also, Shelia is my next target!! Probably go down as one of the worst players in BB history. Sure, smart move on her part to get house to flip…but she still and always will be the biggest pawn ever. She is begging Sharon to beg Josh to not say anything about her son. Josh is thinking about using that as a bartering move.
This cast is just tedious and w/ someone coming back? Dang, just get it over with and get to BB10. Big Brother did a terrible job casting this crew of idiots. I’ll watch BBAD only to let you know if Ja/Jo attack anymore, but if it’s just more gloating…I can think of much better things to do!!

This is probably a dumb question, but apparently there is a lot I’m missing by not watching the live feed thing? I only watch what’s on tv so a lot of what is being talked about on the blogs comes from other venues?

Oh yeah, you are “one of the many” who cbs fools by twisting, editing w/ music or out of sequence, and manipulating the action to get you guys to think a certain way…which in fact…I sit there during the shows and mutter under my breath, “liar, that’s not how it happened, it didn’t happen in that order, etc.”…things like that.
I guess the only ways I can tell you to get a true picture is of course the live feeds, but they keep bombarding us w/ FLAMES/TRIVIA. Some other viable sources are of course here with BBB and the cbs site, also go to Youtube and put in “bb9dish” (you can find alot of clips, but be aware of the dates), watch BBAD if you have ShowTime 2 and can stomache staying up late nite after nite and listening the “The Court Jester and his Fool”, oh, and then you can go to BB9Dish Blog Site. She does a good job with at least 5 - 6 updates a day, With video clips. That should do ya! Then you should get a real idea of what idiots are in the house. (With ANOTHER coming in!!!) Will the madness never end? I have so many people ask me….”when is this over?”……………..ENJOY, if you can.
