Unfortunately, I think Zach will show us what he’s been hiding for the majority of the game, that he can own up when he needs to. Zach and Dani at the final.

But seriously, 7.5 hours!?? It’s amazing Dick doesn’t walk out in some serious medical condition. I mean when youre dealing with this kind of money, CBS should be aware of how far people are willing to go (and how dangerous it could be for the competitors).

I’m going out on a limb to make an actual post. I’ve been reading the posts for quite a while and I’m not going to get into who is more disgusting than whom, or whether not playing is a better strategy than playing dirty, etc.

I think Dick and Daniele probably had the most difficult situation from the beginning, on a personal level. The reasons are obvious to anyone who has been paying attention, and everyone here has been paying attention.

In watching the goings on, I have noticed Dick’s interactions and body language with Daniele and hers with him. He appears to be genuinely happy when she is happy and suffers when she is sad. He appears more inspired when he is doing something that will benefit her as much or more than him. He very much wants to step up to the plate for her. This environment is not of his choosing, but he is here, and she is here and he wants to do his best for her and he very much wants her to be proud of him. Listening to the way he talks to her, he is gentle and understanding with her. He is reassuring, rarely critical, and tries to bolster her confidence and self esteem.

There is no doubt that he is awkward in this. It looks like he has never done anything like this before and here he is trying to do it in this atmosphere. He has known from the beginning that if he is to reconcile at all he has to strike while the iron is hot. He couldn’t very well go up to her on day one and tell her that they’d get together when the whole thing was over and chat.

Do they both have issues? Oh, yeah. Lots. Daniele is young, it’s true, but she’s old enough to have outgrown some of the behavior she displays. I’m convinced she recognizes Dick’s intentions and his deep and fatherly affection for her and I feel that she shares his feelings at some level. She even finally told him she loves him. I think she lacks the life experiences to be able to share all of her feelings with him in front of cameras, the stress of the competitions, etc. Plus, she has to try to remain “cool” at all times. It’s a youth thing.

Look at Dick when he’s been on that stump with water hitting him in the face for 6+ hours. Look at him looking over at Daniele and be honest with yourself. That wasn’t Dick standing there, that was Daniele’s dad. It was she, his little girl, who was giving him strength. Others have said he wants to win for her. I believe you are right. That’s what dads do. He might not have realized these feelings for her until he spent this time with her, or this time with her may have rekindled those feelings in him. But I am convinced that they are there. There’s not a dad I know of who wouldn’t jump in front of a bus for his child. I firmly believe that instinct is strong in Dick.

They are experiencing a relationship on a whole other level than what the game is all about and at a level that none of the other players can get close to.

I said before, they have issues that won’t be solved by this game’s experience. If Daniele wins the money, who knows what she’ll do with it. If Dick wins the money, I think he’ll enjoy some of it for himself, but I think he’ll also stick to his word and take care of his children with it.

If Zach wins the money, well, I haven’t really thought about it. Nobody much, throughout the game, wanted him playing in their sandbox. He must give off a bad vibe of some kind. Who knows. He reminds me of “hangers on” that we all experienced in college. Not really part of any group, just kind of hung out and hoped for the best. Always with the big smile, just hoping it’ll work.

Call me names, flame if you must. It’s all good. I think that we’ve seen something a little special during this game. Something BB didn’t plan on. We saw some actual reality on a “reality” show; the last place you’d expect it. Just maybe, a father and his daughter will mend fences. Wouldn’t that be a pretty good thing?

Hmmmm. When I posted mine, Mike’s wasn’t up yet. Thought I’d be first.

Rats! I could use a shirt. Ha ha. Just kidding around.

I do agree with Mike that subjecting the players to that type of exposure just because they didn’t have a contingency plan for the bunny going off the track is pretty irresponsible.

Even the Navy SEALs, some of the most fit and motivated young men in the world, have a medic present, on the beach, in the sand with them when they are going through their training. These excellently conditioned young men are checked out by this medic on a regular basis, whether they like it or not, even when they are showing no symptoms of anything wrong.

The show would have certainly survived had everybody gone back inside while the brain trust gotten together and come up with something more resembling a big brother competition and not SEAL hell week.

BB Blogger nice digs man …. even as early as I am up I didn’t get the first post … awwwh man I will be bummed all day .

Well Zach and Dick head to head not what I expected but that may work to Zach’s favor. I think it could be a 50/50 on this one guys and Zach may pull yet another HOH. I am hoping for that outcome anyway. If our come back kid Zach does win HOH I do think that Dick will urge him to keep Dani and send him home … but Zach has the best chance of winning the jury votes with Dick. The HG do not LIKE Dick and I don’t think that they respect his game play … JMO …
Dick just went over the top too many times.
Now Dani on the other hand although they may not really like her they probably do respect her game play… that girl is awesome at competitions … even I have to give Dani her due. I hope this has open her eyes somewhat on a personal level with her Dad and they can mend their relationship . You can say a lot of rude crude things about Dick … because he is a nasty … person but you can tell behind all that hair dye , ink and black nail polish … he loves his kids and as shown that he is willing to do anything … even stand in a man made CAT 5 … for them … so what more could you ask for in a father. I don’t like him and I don’t want him to win but I can respect him for that reason.

So that being said my choice to Win is Zach … I can’t predict this one it is too tough to call … wonder what the odds are for Dick to take it all in Vegas???

dear 1st. timer at 4:54am. my dear sir i could just kiss you..you are echoing my sentiments exactly…for dick big brother was way more about his daughter than winning the money. i am so glad to see that others have seen this. people always worry about “who deserves the money” perhaps dick does not deserve the money any more than zach or jameka..but he does deserve to win the game..it has become a metaphor for life. yes..the show is called big brother but this season has been the season of the donato’s. if you don’t like them..turn off the tv..big brother will be back next year and there will be 14 new players. those you love and those you love to hate. i admire dick for what he is doing..i may not always agree with his methods…but i still admire him. laugh at me if you will…poke fun and call names. it won’t bother me..and to the person from last night who said if i love dick so much i should marry him…well. i would like to get to know dick and could probably easily fall for him. i think that if dick is in your corner he would fight to the death to protect you and take care of you . daniele is a spoiled little brat i know..but i also think she is a beautiful young girl under her bravado and she brings out my mothering insticts. i would be honored to be dick’s wife and daniele’s mother. so dick..if you happen to read this..i am available! and to 1st. timer at 4:54am. here’s a big kiss from me to you!

I tend to agree with Alex’s mom and First timer. Dick reminds me of a guy that I knew in college. When the going got tough he would hurt your feelings… Defense mechanism.. I still think that Dick could have reaped more havoc laying low and showing what he was capable of rather than maliciously stripping folks to the soul with his words. Enough about that…. I hope he wins HOH and takes his daughter to the F2.

First timer nailed it, and I like “Alex’s Mom” was so happy to see someone else GET IT !!! Very insightful !! I would just like to point out this little tidbit. Yes Dani and Dick had a tough game and their personal stuff had to complicate things way worse than anyone is aware of, BUT….. In group situations the human response is pretty consistent…”the runt effect” and Zach was it. People bond together by singling out a person to exclude. Take a moment and think of how it must have felt to be in that house and being hated by everyone it for literally no apparent reason. It’s a case of the last person picked and we all know how bad that sucks. Then you become even more insecure and over compensate and try to hard and that perpetuates the hate. I think Zach earned his stripes. It’s really difficult to be that runt. Especially when you have no recourse.
any other like-thinkers out there? Honestly, I can be happy with 2 outcomes Dick or Zach, but if it’s Danielle I might flip out.

Alex’s Mom, I agree with you EXCEPT about wanting to be Dani’s mom and Dick’s wife. Won’t go quite that far, but I sure do see that he loves his daughter and I think Dani is just a little young and immature is all, but still her whining does get completely on my nerves. I see the good and the bad in them all.

I am totally shocked it is going to be Zach and Dick in the Final HOH comp. I think if it is not something that is physical then Dani would be the strongest competitor. Did Dani let him win or did Dick fight it out with her? Kind of surprised with that one.

BB Blogger, glad you got your site fixed. I was starting to take it personally when I would try to come in and the door was locked!!!

alex’s mom, Dani brings out my mothering instincts too. The part where I tell her that she is not too big to be taken over my knee. On a personal level I see no redeeming qualities in that young woman at all. Not someone I would choose to have in my life. I know that when my daughter was Daniele’s age we had our issues but they were our issues. It didn’t change the basic goodness in her and that was always there for all to see. Try as I might I cannot see any of those qualities in Daniele. Makes me really grateful for what I have.

Hey Eileen, the one thing I do want to say about your post is that we do have to remember, (even though it is hard sometimes) that they are closed up in a house with each other for soooooo long with no outside distractions or stimulations and no privacy at all. I do believe she is spoiled but I also think the flaws in their personalities are magnified in these types of situations. But yes, I agree, I would definitely have to send her to room WITH supper!!! LOL

I TOTALLY agree with First Timer and am thankful others are finally seeing Dick’s true intentions. The love he has shown for Dani has brought me to tears at times, only because I can totally relate to the pain of thier relationship. I have been cheering for them both and can only hope that Dani gets counseling and grows up enough to realize what a great Dad she has!

Vivian what you say is correct. It’s an exaggerated environment for sure. But heck, if we can see redeeming qualities in Dick in spite of his horrible antics, one would think that something would shine through from Dani. Not yet for me though anyway. Maybe after the finale I will be able to say Eureka! I would like nothing better to be able to eat my words where Dani is concerned, for the sake of her family and all those who inhabit her world.

On another note, I am catching up on the live feed recaps from yesterday. Seems Dick is really pissed at the producers because they are going to be reviewing the blue ball situation. Anyone have any info on that? I am with Dick on this one. As he says, with a million cameras why are they just now, five days later, getting around to finding out what happened?

Would like to hear about the 2nd comp. too, anyone? I would like to think Zach will pick Dick, as I would prefer Dick get the money instead of the brat. I believe he will take care of his kids and his parents. I still say Dani will blow it all on herself if she were to get it and we’ll see them on Jerry Springer soon.

Regardless of Dick’s personal insults during the game, I think he will get a lot of support. There may be some animosity still about Zach, but what did he really do to anyone but try to fit in? I just think he was obviously above the intelligence level of most HG and just couldn’t relate, that’s why he sometimes appeared “dumb” because he was trying so hard. I’ve liked him since the start and would love to see him win. I think it will be interesting to see what he’ll do with the money.

Can’t find too much info on the comp from yesterday either. All talk of it is being blocked. Lots of recapping about how pissed Dani was about losing though. Then to add insult to injury the poor child had to start her packing which was more than she could deal with. She told Dick that all this folding was really hurting her arms. Said if Jameka were still there that she would pack for her. Huh???

I think Zach will once again win HoH as he has been keeping track of events way better than Dick. Then Zach will eliminate Daniele leaving him against Dick in the final 2. Me too SherreLu, I watched Dani cook and eat, and hit the pillows. I believe Dick was still in DR and Zach was in the SBR. Of course I didn’t have time to watch it this morning because I was up so late last night.

As I’ve said this is my first time watching BB, and I’m curious as to the wrap party. Is this televised, or something private for all of them? How does that work?

gee..imyourdog…i have to say that if you consider what i said to be an insult or a personal attack..then i must say dear, that shows like big brother are way
too intense for a person of your tender sensibilities to be watching. you are the one who suggested that god must be angry…not I. i only said that god would be happy seeing how the tone of the posts today were much less hate filled and derogatory than normal. i consider myself to be one of the “good guys”…i haven’t broken any of the 10 commandments lately…i always say please and thank you. excuse me are very nice words too. i am never mean to stray animals and i donate to the catholic charities and salvation army. i tell my child i love him at least 100 times a day…and if i see someone who needs a helping hand i try to do my part. but it seems (in your eyes at least) the fact that i root for dick donato negates all of the good i have tried to do in the world….i think god loves everyone. and that includes dick and daniele. like i said before..peace be with you bother and good will to all. (not just the ones that you approve of!)

He is “numbers man” afterall. He probably does have it down. I am really surprised that Dani and Dick really competed against each other. I am surprised that Dick didn’t throw it to Danielle. Maybe BB insured against that somehow. Who knows? We don’t cuz they aren’t sharing!!!!!!!!!!

As for the Blue Ball BB8Spoiler talked about Dick wishing for a do-over on that challenge so perhaps they could change the order of people leaving and get Zach out earlier… They are not pleased with themselves that they kept Zach and got rid of Amber… You know what the say about hind sight being 20-20…

OMG! Someone ledt the door open again! That was sappy! Of course BB’s theme was to try to bring D/D back together but you honestly dont think that worked do you? Not in the long run, where it really matters? Well maybe for Dick, but once Dani gets out in the real world, it will be all for none! 1. She is still too young and self-centered. 2. She will forget about dear ole dad, once shes in EuroDisney w/ Nick! 3. She and Dick need some kind of family counseling to fix “deep” issues. NOW I’M DOING THE SAPPY THING! YUK! Okay, I can hear the door closing so I’ll stop!. . . .BUT YOU DO KNOW, ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN ADMITTANCE,. . . that they planned on getting on BB years ago? And “staging” their “dysfunction”? They were waiting till Dani was old enough. Thats why Dani was so proud of enticing her dad to start his “tirades” AND BEGGED Dick to attack Zack (lol) during Bunny Hop! This game was set-up deviously…too obvious! For sentiment value? Nope. That was just a well used “hook.” KUDOS!!

I just have to say I do not like D & D and I hope Zach wins. Dani is a whinning baby worse the Amber and Dick is a piece of white trash. You D & D fans out ther you tell me that you would like to be in that house with them and like for Dick to treat you like that. He take everything personal and trows it in there face to scare eveyone. It worked but he didn’t play the game in bullied everyone. He is far from a Dr. Will or a Howie. He makes me sick to look at him not because of his tats or hair or even piercing. My husband has more tats than that. It’s his everything, all the spitting, I don’t think he ever brushes his nasty mouth, he makes me sick to look at him. I think you D & D lovers aren’t really watching eveything because if you were you would not think like that. Dani she looks just like her dad. At first I thought she was pretty and now all I see is her Daddy in her……yuck..her attitude sucks. Hey in the beginning I was a D & D fan , I was hoping they made it till the end but after his true colors came out, and hers too. They both make me sick. I think this is the worst BB ever and hopefully next year they really screen the players better. If Dick and Dani are in the final 2 then I know the show was fixed. I watch all the time and Dick seems to always know stuff he shouldn’t or gets away with stuff that others couldn’t. He must have all the behind the scenes people scared too. They should have kick his a– out when he burned Jen. I am not a big Jen fan but it shouldn’t have happen. Dick should have stopped. Or the Producers should have pulled him.

Think about it!! Dani and ED could have been setting pretty. During the ball comp they could have put their balls in one tube and won easy! Or they could have put their gren balls in jameka’s tube, she wins zach’s gone. Or they could have put a blue ball in Zach’s tube…. disqualified! Zach is where he is because DD concentrated on who they disliked more than who would become a problem in the end. Jameka wouldn’t have lasted an hour on the carrot hop! Anyway I hope D or D win. They have put forth the most effort in this game. If Zach pulls it off and wins it will only be because the jury voted on emotion and not game play.
D and D will get Nick’s vote and maybe one more if the voting turns personal. Too bad if that happens. Either way Dick will be a winner when he see’s all the fans that were pulling for him.

Hello Vivian, I was just reading for a while to keep out of some coments. I am not sure if I should be hoping for your sons game to be resceduled so I hope you get to watch BB8 and see the game somehow. I think it is smart for cbs to save alittle something for the show but you do not get the same feel from watching in whole or the reactions of the HG after. I was wanting a lot more of the players in the SH ( staged or not). I think the SH guests are way more intertaining. I am torn as I know this is a game but I still do not care for the attitudes of D and D and although I think they kicked ass in the game. I want Zach to win maybe as stated before by someone He is the underdog. Zach was not a bully, crude, abusive, ungrateful and so on. TES, it is a game but I am just not into promoting that kind of behavior in any way, shape or form. I watched the first BB show and they were a bit confussed as to why BB was trying to get them so against each other and consider ( ok, it was just talk) but considering all walking out the door. I watched, I liked the nice guys and begame the game was new it was interesting and intertaining. Just my thoughts!

Vegasgirl, I think you said that quite well. I feel pretty much the same way. I am trying really hard not to be judgemental. Everyone has favorites, that is just the way it is. I too think Dick and Dani have played an awesome game. On the other hand, I think that Zach tried hard to get into alliances and no one would let him so what was he to do? Maybe this was his strategy. To not get noticed and stay in as a “floater” and then show what he was made of after that. How is that not good game play too? I personally thought Eric and Jess were cute together (please dont throw things at me guys) but I also think that it won’t last at all. Hopefully, they will have a good friendship out of it. I think Amber and Jameka will probably stay in touch also. Those are all good things to come out of the game. I also hope that Dick and Dani have a better relationship because of this. I kind of think they will. I am sure that not all problems can be fixed with this, but they have had to work together and maybe Dani has seen a different side to her dad and knows she can depend on him. Okay, I am getting sappy now! Anyway, I pretty much agree with ya Vegasgirl!
