Big Brother 19 — That Was Exhausting To Watch

Hi y’all!

Speaking as someone who is not a huge fan of either Paul or Cody, yesterday was exhausting to watch. With the exception of Jason, Matt, Mark, and Elena, all of the other houseguests signed onto Paul’s plan to try to push Cody to the point that he would either self-evict or take a swing at someone and get kicked out of the house. Josh wandered around the house, yelling at Jessica and Cody. While they mostly ignored Josh, Jessica did end up getting into a screeching match with Raven. Raven was extremely proud of herself, even though she did most of her shouting after Cody and Jessica went outside and shut the door. Raven spent a lot of time yelling at that glass door.

Speaking of yelling, it turns out that Paul is a lot better at instigating than actually fighting. He had no problem suggesting that the other houseguests should question Cody’s military service and maybe even bring up the death of Cody’s brother but Paul largely stayed in the background himself. He spent nearly the entire day rehearsing what he was going to yell at Cody — “Ya woman put a muzzle on you!” — but he didn’t yell it until Cody was outside with the door closed and probably wasn’t able to actually hear him. Paul apparently was more comfortable with the idea of pushing Cody to attack Josh than running the risk of being attacked himself.

It quickly got exhausting. Evel Dick may have popularized the idea of being a bully but even he knew when to back off. Just to make clear, I’m neither a Cody nor a Paul fan. I pretty much dislike both of them. For that matter, it’s hard for me to think of anyone in the house that I actually do like. Sometimes, I do like Kevin but he’s going to have to do something more than just be likable if he wants to earn the right to win Big Brother.

My thing is this: Drama is fun to watch. Bullying is not. It wasn’t fun when Cody told Megan, “I just don’t like you” and it wasn’t fun watching Josh taunting Cody and Jessica yesterday. Even if you accept the argument that the people being bullied were bullies themselves, it’s never entertaining to watch someone sink down to someone else’s level. Apparently, production realized this as well because they eventually called Paul, Josh, and Christmas into the diary room and informed them that they are not allowed to “provoke violence” or to encourage other houseguests to self-evict.

Shortly after this, someone with a bullhorn shouted, “America loves Jess! Paul is a bully!”

Paul seemed kind of out-of-it immediately after all of this. To a large extent, his strategy has been based on convincing all the other houseguests that America loves him and that America will love any houseguest that works with him. Getting scolded by production and then being taunted by the bullhorn really seemed to get under his skin. As soon as Big Brother After Dark started, Paul started to backtrack, as if he was trying to convince the casual viewers (i.e., the ones without live feeds) that they had heard wrong and he hadn’t spent the entire day ordering the other houseguests to try to make Cody snap.

Ultimately, Paul’s plan backfired not because he upset the viewers but because he just made Cody and Jessica even more determined to 1) stay in the house and 2) win HoH on Thursday night. Paul seems to realize this too. He has spent most of today telling anyone who will listen that he’s sure that Jessica will suffer some sort of “personal punishment” for using the hex, like she won’t be allowed to compete for HoH or she’ll automatically go on the block the week afterward. Paul’s grasping at straws.

Paul really should just get over it. So Cody and Jessica get to survive an extra week. Who cares? It’s not like they have any allies in the house. Even Mark has said that he’s going to nominate Cody and Jessica if he wins HoH. Even if Cody or Jessica wins HoH, Paul’s alliance is so huge that it’s not like it could be dismantled in a week or even two. Perhaps instead of trying to get people to self-evict, Paul should spend his time telling his followers how important it is that one of them wins HoH on Thursday.

Just a thought.

Anyway, things have been calmer today. Jessica was amazed when, after their huge fight, Raven greeted her this morning with a cheery, “Good morning!” Jessica is definitely going to use the hex on Thursday and we’ll see what happens from there!

I completely agree. It made me angry and frustrated. There idea today was to “kill them with kindness”. Paul just can’t shut up though. He has been raising issues all day again. He seems so angry because Jess has the hex and plans on using it that he can’t see straight. He just keeps going to everyone and getting them to agree with him. He is horrible. Sorry to anyone who likes him but it is disgusting when you incite others to violence. And that is exactly what he did. He bullies Josh too. Josh is his little lap dog but when Josh says he wants to talk to someone Paul tells him no and tells him what to do. I just don’t like it. Paul is a first class bully and I can’t stand watching him anymore. Hope he goes soon.

I feel like production let things get out of hand. The Bully factor should not be allowed under any circumstances. Paul may be Big Brothers pick, but he is one big nasty human who enjoys leading everyone else to be bullys. I am praying he gets Blindsided and taken out of the House.

Alot of people don’t. He may be wrong…i’m not even sure. I do know we are polluted beyond there being anywhere safe from it. Which is a shame and big corporate ‘men’ for the most part don’t care.

I’m not convinced. I have seen articles saying proof in both sides. Until I recently watched the documentary Chasing Coral I didn’t believe it was to the extreme I do now. However I do no that the earth has a way of resuppling itself of necessary elements. There’s a lot of things about global warming that I question and I have decided to approach it as a common lay person with the level.of understanding I have. I will continue to educate myself but I won’t be bullied into claiming something just because someone else claims to believe it. I research in order to understand.

But I’m concerned even more with the gmo in our foods and pesticides. Even eating organic allows some poisons. So many people with immune diseases and cancer from what we breath and eat and drink.

I am a retired Air Force and I do not appreciate someone questioning someone’s else’s military service.. no matter how you feel about a person you should not use that as a tool, especially coming from a kid who has never served a day.. I can’t believe that production let this continue I guess it makes good TV that’s probably why it’s not big brother anymore it’s the Paul show.

Lisa , I enjoy reading your updatedand the fans updates, At this point the FCC should step in and self-evict Big Brother’s season. I stop watch Big Brother in Evil Dick’s season and was not a fan of Paul last season. This season he is even worst than last season. Big Brother continue to our do themselves as this season’s cast is the worst than last seasons group. As for me, this will be the second season I tune out Big Brother and just enjoy your blog. Will wait for next season. If its another repeat of this season, then its one, two, three strick you out as far as I am concern, no more Big Brother. As for your the moves, Jess with the Cody wasted last week’s HOA as the should have put Alex on the block the wiuld have be successful in evicting Josh. They need to win HOH and put Paul and Alex on the Block. Will make it an interesting week for all who watch.

At the moment, Paul is messing with the keys and the lockers in the HOH room. Didn’t earlier in the season other hgs were also trying the keys in the lockers and BB told them to stop? Why is Paul being allowed to mess with the keys and lockers. Hmmmmm! Maybe nothing or maybe a benefit for Paul.

I didn’t know anything about Cody’s brother. Paul is evil scum to even mention that and big brother are too for not telling Paul if anyone says anything about Cody’s brother Paul will be kicked out. I like Kevin still but losing respect for him and as a mom I feel for jess and as someone who sees now Cody is someone holding in a lot of pain….I mean he says he likes being alone…. and as me being the same way because the ones I really want to be with either aren’t here or don’t care….I don’t dislike him but I don’t agree with things he says. But hey I have a nephew I love but totally irritates the hell out of me. So….. please Big Brother… the Paul thing is old. Time to never bring him back.

This season is in the toilet big time, I think BB is going to get a lot of back lash ala season 15. If they put a stop to it now it may be salvageable as there is a lot to go, but BB will have to stay on top of them. There is no way I want to see a time where a legit strategy is trying to push someone to self evict. That is not the game I love to watch. I didnt know about Cody’s brother getting killed in a motorcycle accident, but how anyone in that house can even here the words come out of Paul’s or anyone’s mouth, to bring that up to him in such a way to upset him, and not be able to understand how sick that is, is very concerning as to the people they allow in that house. Their families must be so embarrassed and disgusted by their actions. I know I would be. I hope production stays on top of them, only time will tell how much damage this will cause this season or the franchise as a whole. I mean if this is allowed to continue who in their right mind would ever want to apply to be in a house and go through this, i feel badly for those not participating, as I can’t imagine what it must be like to be on the sidelines watching this disaster, I would have to say something, and then of course I would have to suffer thief rath as well. It must be hell. I dont watch live feeds so I only get bits and pieces here and there so it must be awful in there. If I were on the sidelines I think I would have to self evict as I couldn’t listen to all that, I’m surprised there isn’t a line up at the diary room door people wanting out at this point, I can imagine those ppl are likely complaining to production as well.

I think production has put Paul back in to won this season because he didnt get it last season. It is obvious because he wins alot, gets the hex that saves him for 3 weeks not just one. Really and now he runs the show. Boring and if this is how it is gonna be each season alot of us seasoned viewers have decided not to even watch anymore. Big brother you need to go back to old ways and quit bringing back people from other seasons. Boring!!!!

So done with Josh (Paul’s trained baboon). It is really sad to see him doing whatever he can to get attention. How dare these people tell Jessica that she shouldn’t use her hex. If she didn’t and let Cody be evicted they would still try to get her out next week. This way they both have a Chance to win HOH and POV next week. In their position every single one of the HG’s would use it. I would love to see Christmas get evicted. Don’t think she should have been allowed to stay as she hasn’t really been able to compete as the others are forced to do. I want to scream every time she refers to herself as an extrodinary woman.

I agree. I really hope either Jess or Cody win and put Alex andPaul up. If one of them come off put Christmas up. I really used to like her but she really showed her true colors yesterday. It made me sick watching these disgusting millenniums bullying Jess and Cody. Cody is a little different but he was man enough to serve his country for all of us. I don’t think any of these other spoiled kids would even consider it. I’m glad BB finally stepped in. They should have done it sooner. I just wanted to go in that house and give all of them a piece of my mind. I can’t wait for these people to get out of the house and see that people don’t like them and are disgusted by their actions!

The hex will stop the whole eviction. Nobody will leave. It will be like the whole week never happened. The only good part is that Paul will not be able to compete for HOH since he was the HOH for the wasted week that will be nil and void. This makes me very happy 😂😂

I am so sick of the bullying that has been going on since the beginning of the season. Paul is a fool, as is Cody, Jessica, Christmas and the King of the Fools – Josh. I really like Mark but I feel that he just can not stand up for himself. Elena (who I also do not like) treats him so poorly. I would love to see Mark put up Elena..LOL!!!

I can’t either Jolee, Lisa Marie and my Dallas Cowboys are kicking off the NFL season against The Arizona Cardinals in The Hall of Fame Game ! Decisions to be made what to watch live! By the way doesn’t Mark look like a young Hoss Cartwright from Bonanza? Hoss ( Dan Blocker) is buried here as he grew up here in this small town before making it to the big screen. The houseguests foul mouths makes me nauseous when I think about you and your sis having to listen to it. I’m sorry later generations than yourselves are not as considerate.

Great synopsis Miss Lisa. This has been the worst season in memory, for bullying and meanness. I was trying to think of previous seasons that had crazy meanness… I thought of Evel Dick, crazy Chima, and Ollie’s candy cane throwing fit. I really couldn’t come up with a lot that was pure meanness…

In any case… I’m glad that Production finally realized it was time to put a stop to Paul’s inciting of violence. I bask in the glow of his personal bonfire demise. 🔥 🔥 🔥

Jess and Cody both said she should not be following a married man around to watch while he is taking a shower. She also leans over placing her elbows on the pool table with her boobies hanging out while Jason is playing pool. I have watched past seasons live feeds off and on. But it seems all this group talks about is money and making it to Jury. That boiled down to how all the crap yesterday started. If Jessica uses the hex it will take away spots in the PAID Jury house. Their plan to get Cody or Jess to self evict was even to have the money they have made so far revoked. Disgusting game play.

I heard paul say they get $40 thousand if they make it to jury and it’s a nice comfy place to be together with no more game play but I’d still bet it’d be awful being in there with paul. Jess and Cody want to be together. They don’t want just one of them stuck in jury with those bullies. I don’t blame them.

Karen. It seems in the recent past that making money in jury and getting a paid vacay seems to actually be more deireable than actually winning the game!!! These kids get lazier and farther away from the whole point of BB every year!
But another reason they wanted to get Cody out now is this is the last week before jury. They didn’t want him to get a piece if that or be able to possibly spend time there with Jess. And now they have an extra week to wait before someone can met their ” goal”! Which makes me wonder if a double eviction may be coming up. If not this week then next.

Since there wont be anyone evicted this week, it’ll either be two weeks or there has to be a double eviction. BB must have known that this delay could happen with the Hex. And we have two more weeks of the Temptation comp and 3 ppl OTB. Seems like they are making it hard to get ppl out of the house this year! And we are in a shorter season. Doesn’t seem

So I just watched a news item on TV about a 12-year-old that killed herself due to bullying. Big brother put a stop to it and put a stop to it now this is totally uncalled for and I refuse to watch until you do. I’m going to suggest to any friends that even bring it up do not do not watch big brother and promote the bullying at hand. Paul is a dangerous person to push this lane group of players to do the bowling for him. It just shows what a coward he is.

I just got caught up on reading the overnight comments. About the $40,000 that Paul was talking about… he said they get paid $13,000 if they make it to jury and he said whoever won the $25,000 (Kevin) would make close to $40,000 ($38,000)

That makes more sense. I didn’t think the $40,000 figure for making jury sounded right. I thought second place got $50,000 so it wouldn’t make sense to pay everyone who made jury $40,000.

I was watching BBAD last night from the previous night. Could Raven shovel that popcorn into her mouth any quicker? It was almost like someone might take a kernel from her and she wasn’t going to let someone get that kernel.

And what was up with Christmas reprimanding Mark for eating “her” special slop that she later said was just regular slop? I think I would have laughed in her face.

The concept of big brother is to put folks in a house with no contact with the outside world, etc… We all know that, but i think some of us forget. I watch the show specifically to watch what happens to the people in the house and watch the changes over time. Changes to their personalities, behaviours, speech patterns (note Josh), I could go on and on… It is quite obvious that the contestants often forget that they are on camera. Would you behave that way with your grandmother watching? Of course, other times they are hamming it up for the camera. Some try to remain loyal to their true selves, others morph into a new person whether planned ahead of time or because of the game. It is fascinating to watch.

It is also interesting to listen to the hatred on this board. I don’t know what else to call it. None of my posts this season have shown up so i don’t expect this one to either, but wow, you guys can be venomous!

I didn’t dislike Paul or Paul’s character in the game – up until a few days ago. He pushed the envelope too much for me, even if it was just ‘game play’. Cody on the other hand, he showed his hand too early for me. I don’t think he should or any for that matter should be treated the way he has, but i don’t like the way he behaved at the beginning of the game. Jess on the other hand. She has class and brains. Kevin could take a run right up the centre if he makes some moves, any moves at this point!

Notice how Paul almost always makes a glance to see if the camera is zooming in on him. I guess he want to be sure that his every word and action is being recorded. On hindsight he probably wishes his bullying actions the other day weren’t available for broadcast.

I am jot good at math…but even at 750 per week…that is still 39,000 a yr. salary to sit on your butt 24/7 and eat someone else food…yes you do have to play mind games 30 hrs a day…Tons of us running around out there still not making 39,000 a yr…still a very nice summer vacation at 750 a week…I have said this before and will say it again now…this show is about at its end…lets make next yrs the final yr. and let America pick 40 names from the first 19 seasons to bring back for a final reunion season of champions most liked players and then have CBS approach all 40 to see if they would like to come back for one last try and then put those names on a website and allow America to vote for the 16 to gain entry back into the house…JUST CURIOUS IF ANYONE HAS SEEN THE RATINGS FROM THIS YRS. DISASTER SEASON !!!!!!

At $750 a week they would have to be in the house for a whole year (52 weeks) to make $39,000. I’m thinking they make $13,000 if they are in the game from start to finish, I’m not sure how many weeks they are in the house plus one week leading up to the game where they are kept apart from each other in hotels. Added to that $13,000 is any money they win along the way (Kevin has won an additional $25,000.27).
The first and second place winners have the $13,000 subtracted from their final winnings. That seems unfair but I have heard past winners say that is how it works.

The difference in this year’s players is they did not apply to be on big brother. Friends or family submitted their names. Some of them had never watched big brother until they were selected and then watched videos of past games. Some of the players like Mark, I’m sure wish they had never started playing the game. I’m hoping that Cody wins HOH, puts up Paul Alex if Paul or Alex win the veto put up Christmas. I would love to see that group broken up.

It was a test to see how it would work out with people that most had never seen the game or play the game before. Now my understanding is after they were selected they were showing videos of previous seasons. So I don’t think they will do that again. I can only hope. Say cheese and smile.

So there are prolly about 4 HGS who have ever really watched previous seasons of BB. But that’s the way it started and you shouldn’t have to know the show to be there and play. The ones that really know it tend to follow what past players did. But I think it should be one or the other so the fans don’t have such a big advantage over the newbies.

My local morning radio show reads info for the top grossing movies and the top 10 rated shows every week. All 3 episodes of BB were in the top 10. I know its summer and there isnt much on, but still…that’s what CBS is looking for. I think America’s Got Talent was 1, Game of Thrones 2, and one of the BBs was 3….if I remember right. Anyway, thought it was worth sharing.

There is more than Global Warming that Cody does not believe in and he does not like Gay people. Not all Veterans joined the armed forces to protect their country! Some have been told to join or go to jail for (non-violent) crimes they committed. The analogy for that is the armed services “would straighten them out”. Lack of high school diplomas or psychological testing have kept some out. People like Cody joined for the glory and fame…if not then why does he boast about all he did while there?!?

Joker’s Updates confirms this piece of breaking BB19 news, which is very likely to shine some extremely negative light on Jessica Graf. As this just happened, it is unclear if production is going to do anything about one houseguest trying to convince two other houseguests to murder someone. Normally, production doesn’t take kindly to threats by anyone in the game, so this could be a very serious incident when they take a look at it. Will this get excused as a joke?

The comments from Jessica Graf came during a conversation with Cody Nickson and Mark Jansen about how the BB19 season has been progressing. Mark made it a point to tell Jessica and Cody that he is on their side, no matter what they hear from the other side of the house. That’s a bold commitment, but it will be interesting to see if Mark sticks with them after Jessica’s request to go drown Alex Ow.

There has been a lot of additional drama inside the BB19 house over the past few days, with Jessica and Cody finding out that they would be the primary targets for eviction. A lot of additional Big Brother 19 spoilers have also been revealed on the CBS live feeds, some of which may have pushed Jessica Graf to make this desperate request from Mark and Cody. Not only are Jessica and Cody the final nominees for eviction this week, but they are very mad that they will have to use the Halting Hex temptation to stay in the game.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Cody Nickson was also called the worst player in the history of the show, something that fans of the show will catch up in the morning on Wednesday (August 2). This was due to the way that he and showmance partner Jessica have been acting toward other people as well as how they have played the game so far. If Mark Jansen decides to share the information that just took place on the live feeds, though, with Alex Ow basically having her life threatened, the BB19 house is going to explode in drama.

swt1…Janna, have no idea what you are talking about but I think your hatred of Jessica has put you in the realm of wishful thinking. Alex and Raven have both repeatedly said they were going to kill somebody and it was meant as a joke. Nobody takes it seriously…but I’ll have to research.

The hgs just got finished practicing for tomorrow’s HOH comp. Sort of like golf…trying to get a ball in a crate. Raven got 3 balls in. Cody and Kevin got 2 in. Mark, Alex and Christmas got 1 in. The rest didn’t get any balls in the crate.

This came from the BB network we get in the email;
Jessica came down from that perch following a DR conversation that renewed her spirits.
In fact, Cody and Jessica now appeared reaffirmed in their plans to use the Halting Hex on Thursday. Jessica is now definitely going to use the Hex and see if they can go after Paul. They’re probably more ready than ever to fight for the power next week and they’re going to need it if they hope to survive much longer.
Lucky for them, the new Temptation Competition twist is going to give them a third chance at safety for the next two weeks as well making it harder to be Backdoor’d. It won’t be easy for the targeted pair to survive to the end without a big shift in the game, but their odds are improving.
What do you think of all the chaos yesterday? Was it “all’s fair in love & Big Brother” or was it too over the top, even for BB?

I was very disappointed in the show tonight! They made Cody out to look like the villain and made Paul look like a calm and collected person. I really hope CBS is not going to let Paul’s bullying to go unnoticed. I find Paul to be despicable. I really feel for Cody Jess and Mark. They are people with feelings and are being treated horrible. As far as Jess saying she wants to drown Alex I’m sure it was just the way of her saying she can’t stand her. I really can’t stand her either. The way she sits back and laughs at all the bullying is disgusting. I hope Jason’s wife gives her a piece of her mind!

Does anyone else find the comments on this site hard to follow? If I read them through my email the comments just seem to be random. If I read them via the blogsite I have to keep backing up on the list of comment to follow the recent comments that were replied. Am I doing something wrong? Seems like maybe there is an easier way that I haven’t discovered. Help…please.

Tendr August 2, 2017 at 8:35 pm: It’s because we have replies under our comments so new people that come in or come in later make remarks to the replies way up at the top…I liked it better when each comment went to the bottom and if you wanted to speak to a certain person about an earlier comment you just put @jane doe, or whomever.
Am I making sense. .
The way it is now, every time you come back in you have to start at the top all over again. It takes longer.
