Big Brother 18: What a long day it’s been!

Hi, everyone!

Oh my God, what a long day it has been. Between the stuff with the comments and everything else, I am exhausted! Because I had to watch a movie for another one of the sites that I write for, I missed seeing the eviction episode of Big Brother when it aired live. But, I have finally gotten a chance to sit down and watch it.

And you know what?

If you disliked Frank, as many people do, you probably enjoyed this episode. Not only was he unanimously voted out of the house but it turned out that his envelope was empty. Frank will not be returning the game. He won’t even be on the jury. That’s what happens when you manage to alienate everyone in the house except for Bridgette.

If you are a Frank fan, you can take some pleasure in the fact that he did not go silently. He refused to beg for a chance to stay and his final speech to the houseguests let them all know just how little he thinks of most of them. It was a bitter speech but at least it was more interesting than the usual: “No hard feelings, do whatever’s best for your game.”

As for Bridgette’s final plea — seriously, is Bridgette incapable of putting words together?

With Frank gone, the big question becomes who will now become the house’s main target. Everyone’s been united by their mutual dislike of Frank. Now that Frank’s gone, it’s time for people to start turning on each other.

Now, I have to give credit for the upcoming information to Margie and Star. While I was busy watching that movie and taking care of some other stuff, they were keeping an eye on the live feeds and keeping us updated!

The new HoH is …. PAUL!

*groan*

You know, I was starting to like Paul. But then he found the secret room and he just would not stop bragging about it. Paul was temporarily humbled by being nominated three weeks in a row but, now that he’s feels safe, he’s turning back into the loudmouth jerk that he was when he first entered the house. Someone in production obviously told him that it would be a good idea to continually call himself, “Your boy.” They’re trying to make him into another Johnny Mac.

But no.

It’s not going to happen.

Johnny Mac may have been odd and he may have been loud but there was an underlying sweetness to him. He seemed like he was having fun and not taking anything personally. Johnny’s eccentricity seemed sincere. Paul, meanwhile, is obviously putting on an act.

But Paul is safe this week and we’ll see if he shaves off his beard, like he promised to do. As for who Paul is targeting, he appears to be going after Nicole. And if he can’t get Nicole, he’ll probably go after Corey. But, instead of just nominating them, Paul appears to be going for the backdoor route. Apparently, he’ll be nominating Bridgette and a pawn.

*YAWN*

Seriously, backdoor nominations are so boring.

I am one who is sorry to see Frank leave. I’d like to see da leave. I just don’t like her. Her and Paulie need to go. I guess it’s easy for us outsiders to judge. If we were in the house we would be talking and maybe even liking each other. Hard to imagine from this perspective.

I’m currently watching BBAD and it looks like Paul’s plan is to put up Bridgette and a pawn. He is willing to take the pawn down and put up Da. At least that’s the plan for now. Paul, Paulie, Corey and Victor are discussing “options”. V is suggesting that the pawn be someone who has never been on the block. Which if I were V, I’d be making the same suggestion!

I felt a little bit sorry for Frank now that he’s gone, but now all my energy is trying to keep me from heaving at the thought of Paul being HOH. Star, he really is Andy, Jr. and has a touch of Frankie’s annoyance too.

And if he isn’t, he will create some drama TO be! That’s why I hate it that he is HOH. It’s the perfect opportunity for him to get all eyes on him . Plus he gets to be like the Godfather sitting on his throne-bed in the HOH room!! Totally the worst case scenario for us to have to watch!!

BTW…Frankie didn’t bother me AS much because he was kind of from a show biz family and he was Gay. I guess I expected and excused it.Kind of like he was a character in a play. But Paul is like a dictator of a third world country. and I guess this week he actually IS! lol

Yup! They are saying that Da never wins any comps so she should be an easy back door. Sad, but true! I’ve never ever seen her win a comp, this season or her last! I don’t know why that girl can’t win a freakin competition!

This is going to be a terrible week. I don’t know how much I will be able to watch because I reallllllly can’t stand Paul. He is worse than nails on a chalkboard. Wonder how many episodes of his talk show he will do now that he has the HOH room! When he gets with Paulie they both try to out do each other in how important they are and it just gets to be way too much! By the way I think it was Paulie and not Paul that was talking about shaving his beard off. From the back they look like twins with that awful haircut and beard. lol

There are too many people floating through this game. Personally, I like Mama Dae. She’s pretty smart and observant. There are plenty of people who have never won a comp like Natalie or Z. Their purpose? Cuddle bunnies? And Nicole, she’s been lying the whole game. She has to get Dae out before Dae gets her. I think Nicorey are a bigger threat then Davonne. I’d put up Corey and Nicole!

I am sorry to see Frank leave.. sorry he didn’t have a return ticket. I have to disagree with Lisa about Frank’s exit speech… right he didn’t beg for votes but I think you have miss read Frank all together . Frank wasn’t mad at all he was voted out. He was disappointed and yeah his last speech to the house was “I don’t want to see ya all again blah blah” but he told Julie that’s just his way and he thinks they know it….and I think so too .. Yes b/c they all want to win they are glad he’s gone but I doubt anyone really dislikes him as a person. He’s just a regular guy and any one who isn’t competing against him and still can’t see that… well you just have issues on another level.

LMAO at Star. I got home this morning and read on Twitter that Paul won HOH. So I jumped over here to see if your head exploded. 😆
Seriously though… would you rather watch BB10Jerry or BB18Paul? You have to choose one!

Oh wait, I can’t laugh about that…. that means I have to watch him be HOH too!! 😯 ughh!!

And I have been skimming feeds since getting home a while ago. WOW, they went through what must have been hours trying to get a volunteer to sit beside Bridgette. Then after Nicole had finally agreed… sorta… was still whining to no end. Paulie musta heard enough and said he’d go up! boom!

I need to watch more because this is absolutely hilarious to me. All the talks… all the people throwing each other in front of the train. Then after all that for Paulie to say screw it, I’ll go up.

Paul wants Bridgette to leave. But most others want someone else. Nicole, Paulie, Corey, & Victor want Da out. And when they were all chatting.. James was in there at one time too and said he was good with the Da plan. So many made points about getting Da out that Paul was willing to go with that too.

Best odds right now are 1 of 2 leaving. Da or Bridgette.

I need to watch more, but last I saw noms would be Paulie & Bridgette with the target being Bridgette or Da.

What was really funny was watching all the HGs pissed at other HGs for not wanting to go on the block… yet they themselves sure as hell weren’t gonna volunteer.

Volunteering to go on the block is BB no no rule #2 (Dustin). (No no #1 is not using the veto to save yourself- Marcellas) So yeah… no one “wants” to go on the block beside Bridgette.

As I said before, I wanted Frank to stay longer.. and keep things interesting. But after he lost the veto I was ready for him to leave. Now they can quit obsessing over him and play. And actually, things are getting more interesting with them turning on each other. A house of 10 vs 1…. yawn!! But a house divided.. sign me up for that mess!!

Also glad he left because I have read enough conspiracy theories to last the rest of the season. Tinfoil hats are back in the storage room for now anyway.

His speech was not angry or bitter.. he was joking. Even if you don’t believe what he told Julie.. then go back and watch after he gave his speech. He and the rest were all laughing about it and giving fist bumps. The HGs knew it was a joke… they even talked about it after he left. And most of them do actually like Frank as a person. Frank just played a horrible game this time.. so they had to cut him.

One other thing. I hate to assume jury starts now, but if it follows the last few seasons there will be 9 jurors. So the next person evicted will be in jury (without RT ticket). I’m very happy about this because I’m sick and tired of hearing “I just wanna make it to jury” as a strategy.

Well…. you made jury…. so go there now!! Buh bye!

Agreed with the whole “make it to jury” statement, but to be fair, they are out of the game, but basically on a paid vacation AND still get to be on the show a bit with Jury House look in’s and of course the Dr. Will round table and Finale.

JT….seriously can’t believe he got moved up after all these years but…..I gotta say I would rather watch FRANK than PAUL!!! Altho it is pretty much a toss up. Maybe my memory of Frank is fading…lol

Frank was joking last night. He gave everyone a hug before he left. Didn’t look bitter to me!!!

I haven’t been around to watch LFS but as of last night, they were thinking of putting Nat up. They asked Nic but she wanted nothing to do with it, so she woke Nat up to ask her to be teh pawn!~ She is already on slop…give her a break Nic! Plus Nic hasn;t been up yet! I really don’t like the way she is playing..or NOT…this year!!! Anyway Nat was boo hoo-ing to Jamsie, so I am sure he went right up to teh guys and put his little foot down!! lol Prolly why Paulie said F*** it and volunteered. But that is SOOOOOO dangerous! For anyone, but Paulie is so strong and has been running the show. What is he thinking? I don’t care if you think you have buds behind you. NONE of them are Derrick to your bor, Bro!!! Loyalty is in short order this year. Coul;d get interesting!!!!

I’ll watch BBAD while eating dinner tonight…too late for this old cat to stay up watch these folks…ok with Paul winning the HOH…does anyone know who the 4 lowest scores were that are now on slop for the week…the easy way out this week would be Bridget…but I can see him going after Nicole or Da…but that is just Paul…he should have kept his moth shut on the secret door shake down…unless CBS told him to let everyone else in on it…some of them would not even be smart enough to find the door of the phone booth let alone figure out to spell out PARIS on the phone…he should have gone back in the middle of the night when most would be sleeping…this has got CBS all over it…I may be wrong…thanks in advance for the have not info this week…

Natalie actually was doing well in that comp. I guess she rolled the practice ball into the cup at the end 3 times! …but then got a 2 with the red ball.

Paul couldn’t keep the secret room a secret. They were all in the process of solving it… and no one knew what was in there. It could have been a DPOV for the first person. So it was either go in then or risk someone else getting in first (which Victor did not long after Paul)

Huh? I guess he means the silly calling out that he did? Frank was getting voted out no matter what Paul did. And if that’s not silly enough, remember Natalie in BB11 when she won HOH…. her “costume”? Paul must have seen that because he is wearing pretty much the same. Thanks for the reminder! The care packages are going to get messed up IMO. If people vote their fave this week, then that person wont get the good stuff in the weeks to come… but I bet that is what will happen.

Let’s say James is Am’s fave right now… so a lot of people will vote for him no realizing they aren’t helping.

The care packages are as follows
Week 1 – Never Not Pass
Week 2 – Eliminate 2 Eviction Votes
Week 3 – Super Safety
Week 4 – Co-HOH
Week 5 – BB Bribe

They do have more info at CBS site… but they are pretty much what they sound like. The bribe is $5k that can be used to bribe another HG into voting a certain way… or nomination.. etc. But it can only be given to 1 person.. and only for 1 act.

Not important and don’t want to waste a vote on it. But did we need this??? Seriously, there have been so many twists and attempts to keep BB fresh this year, I hardly recognize the show!!!! Maybe their ratings are way down and tht’s why all tehe whisperings of the fall BB. I mean, this show is almost 20 years old. It is going to be cancelled one of these years. I guess they are fighting to keep it NOT this one!! lol

I also hope Paul targets Da’Vonne whether she stays or goes doesn’t matter to me. I am just so BORED with this season & these houseguests that Da’Vonne seems to be the ONLY houseguest that will possibly wake these people up and she will definitely make some noise. I am ready for her to call everyone out for something/anything true or not.

I watched BBAD last night, but am more confused than I was before
watching. Not getting to see the live shows leaves me at a terrible
disadvantage.

I am so glad Paulie is going up on the block. I saw the guys all
gathering to decide which girls they were going to put up. My first
question was… when are the females in that house going to wake up
and figure out they are being eliminated one by one?

I saw Paulie try to convince Z to go up as a pawn, but then he acted
like he really didn’t want her to, as he wants to get Nicole out. Corey was out of his depth trying to convince Nicole to go up as a “pawn”. She knew that going up is a fast forward exit out of the house, especially being a vet. But the whining was hard to watch. Then as soon as Corey leaves, she almost runs to Nat to try to convince her to be the pawn…again. I really found myself disliking her at that point. Nat has been a good sport about going up and has been a HN more than once. But she didn’t give in to Nic. I loved it. Nic hasn’t been on the block yet and that hasn’t been because of good game playing on her part. It’s because there were others the house wanted out more. She’s been destroying any loyalty she had going for her by a showmance (???) and all the lying. The lying isn’t a shock, but she gets caught over and over. That’s when you start walking closer to the exit.

Nat isn’t a good game player. She’s too trusting and comes across
as too innocent to be playing BB. But I find myself liking her. I can’t say the same for the rest of the females in the house.

Paulie and Paul were talking way too much to Da, if she is really
going to be the target. I have a feeling the rest of the week is going
to be a roller coaster ride. The key is the POV comp. The guys are
convinced they can’t lose a comp. Come on girls, win a comp!!

I think there is a chance the house will realize having Paulie on the
block is an opportunity they can’t let pass them by, especially if
the guys don’t win POV. But a lot could change between now and
then. And this group hasn’t shown me they are capable of recog-
nizing a golden opportunity if it slapped them in the face.

While Paulie has been trying to play the game more than most, he
has gotten too cocky and treats females like they are beneath him, exposing a lack of respect for females in general. So far those in the house haven’t figured this out yet. He does not have the winning way his brother, Cody, had with women. And that haircut makes him even less desirable. I think his game is coming unraveled a little.

I truly hope it’s Paulie who goes. It will liven things up to see how
they scramble if this happens. Sigh. It’s a nice pipe dream, but I

As far as the girls waking up….
This whole boy thing started because the first 3 to leave were guys…. and also they found out about the fatal 5 and spy girls. So the guys knew all 8 girls were in an all girl’s alliance…. and they had an 8-5 advantage in numbers… they really had no choice but to work together at that point.

But even at that… they are still down in numbers right now.

One of the reasons Da is such a target is the guys know she is after them. They know she wants to break up showmances… and most likely send the guy home of each. They know she can be very influential like Frank.

Sherry..GMTA!! 😉 I said pretty much the same thing above as a reply. It’s so hard to find what people have said anymore once you move on. I think I liked the number system better so everything was at the bottom if it was new. But anyway, you expanded on waht I said but basically the same.
The other thing Paulie doesn’t ahve besides his bro’s charm is a sidekick like Derrick! If he thinks Corey or Paul got his back, he’s got another think coming!!!

But she also said there would be more care packages… and each HG can only receive one. The info for them is on CBS site.

I had a lot of catching up to do. I watched a little of BBAD, but it just made me sleepy watching everyone in bed. Why don’t they go in the backyard anymore? Maybe too hot??
I am eager to see what twists production comes up with to liven things up a little. I couldn’t believe how much Frank has changed since the last season he was in. I thought he and Boogie were hilarious! This season has no standouts, in my opinion!

Hi gang, I think James will not win if he continues to make moves to satisfy the house, instead of what is best for his game. At the end of the day, Frank was not coming after him . Da Voone talked about taking out power couples-well James that sounds like you and Natalie. I think it will become the newbies verse the veterans again.

Anyone else sick of the HOH and their buddies trying to convince people to be a pawn? I get why they try it….the whole, “blood on my hands” thing….but come on already. Who at this point will risk their game? It’s one thing when it’s the beginning of the game, but now it’s almost half way done. Nobody WANTS to be a pawn, so asking someone to do that is pretty stupid. Then when people resist the idea, “They don’t trust us” comes out. So you either trust them and hope you don’t go home or you don’t trust them and YOU’RE the jerk for not being a pawn. Lose/Lose situation for anyone in that position.

How about this Mr. HOH….just pick to people and quit pussy-footing around! Don’t ask them to be a pawn, TELL them that they are a pawn! If you ruffle feathers with someone like Nicole or Nat…..BIG DEAL!! I really hope the shit hits the fan this week. They gotta start putting each other up sooner or later.

I guess the biggest issue is, these old alliances are dead and the new ones are almost too new to be trusted yet. Is there any strong players that have been together since the beginning, other than a showmance? I don’t consider those showmances to be strong alliances. They’ve all had their little spats, and each pair has a pretty weak link. Or both are weak, IMO. There’s no Derrick/Cody or Dr.Will/Boogie…..ride or die type thing with just two people. I think you really need to have one person that is with you till the end no matter what.

I’m a bit bummed that Frank didn’t have the round trip ticket. I was hoping that he’s come back and shake $hit up a bit. I also think that the person evicted should get to see their goodbye messages before their envelopes are opened to add some fire to the returnee. Paulie is too full of himself. I liked him at first, but am losing respect for him with each new episode. Da’ better win or she’ll find herself walking…she’s played too many sides.

Does anyone know when double eviction will be happening? I’ve got a party to plan.

just poped in to say i think Paulie needs to go, he’s on my last nerve !!
DR. gave me some pain patches i can’t go out to hard to breath, even inside i wheezz can’t waint for summers in. but i know August is the worst month, gotta get out. the pain patches help alot, i didn’t notice but before my husband put one on me even when he touched my back he poke me with his finger and the pain i felt was seering, i didn’t realize the lung pain went thru my back………gosh

clearing of his throat, while I’m sure is based on allergies, drives

Da takes the cake in that department. I don’t know what has
happened to her in her life, but she is her own worst enemy. She
could have been a real star this season, but let that chip on her
shoulder erase any chance of that happening.

Doris, when you put out the idea that watching Paul all week would be rewarded by seeing Da go home, I finally felt some acceptance for having to watch the Paul show until the voting. Finally, an upside.

Conspiracy theories are the icing on the BB blog cake. I wish a couple of HG were intelligent enough to be a conspiricy genius.

swt, you are an angel on earth for enduring all that pain so gracefully. It is such a pleasure to read your posts.

Cake has been mentioned twice and then cookies. I must be hungry. I know I’m hungry for some HG action. I fondly remember the days of strategy talks and subterfuge that kept things interesting.

For all his annoyance, Paul is still not as bad as that guy about 2 seasons ago from Conway, AR, who was a railroad employee. He was so gross (butterscotch….gag) The kiddie porn that was found on his computer contributed to his getting fired from the railroad union, and that’s a hard thing to happen. Almost always, once a rr employee in the union, always a employee in the union. You have to do something pretty awful to get kicked out. They have standards that were way above his.

Gee, do you think I hold a grudge much?

Trying to catch up on feeds and see if I missed anything while sleeping (my AM & PM are pretty much reversed Mon – Fri morning)

Bridgette is still going up. That was never a question. And it still appears Paulie is willing to sit next to her.. and Paul is willing to put him there. They do want to do that out of strategy… think it’s a better chance for them to get POV.

But now Nat is right back in the mix. To be honest, she was never really out of the mix, but did get put aside as a have not.

Well now that she’s not a have not (she’s a have?), her excuse of being a have not is gone. And everyone is well aware of that.. and will remind Paul / Paulie of that just in case they forget.

And as I type Paulie walked out of DR and talked to Nat. And reassured her they were joking (about putting her up now that she’s a have) …and that he is still fine going up on the block. So still looks like Paulie will be up there…… unless, everyone else can convince Paul / Paulie not to do that….. and a few want to talk them out of that and just use Nat as pawn.

Now that I am up to speed, I want to think about these care packages some more.

Who gets them is important. Even this first one, as insignificant as it is (other than to Nat…. & James maybe), is important. It can be a game changer, not for what it is, but for what it says to the other HGs.

If America votes for someone in the house to receive something, then they go up on everyone’s radar in the game. You don’t want someone around that America will vote for… because who knows what twist will be next.

And already some are a bit #pissed that she got that because she is not even playing the game. It must make them wonder what “we” see in her that they don’t.

It appears they are aware there will be more of these packages. IDK if that is speculation or was confirmed to them.. I missed that part. And they seem to think (correctly) there will be better ones down the line.

So maybe this wont hurt Nat at all when the others realize she got the least of the 5… maybe as sympathy or just to give it so someone who doesn’t deserve power.

The most interesting one to me is next week. Cancelling out 2 eviction votes is HUGE!! at least it could be. I just hope we aren’t in another house vote situation where it doesn’t matter how many votes are cancelled.

The bribe might be interesting too. Numbers in the house will be down by then.. so it could change things a lot. But usually that late in the game, people don’t let $5k jeopardize their own game.

Of course safety for a week is big. Be interesting to see who gets that. Co-HOH could be some good comedy if it’s 2 people that want each other out. I’ll be rooting for a BB Odd Couple.

And the fallout as each CP is revealed and who gets it will be fun to watch. Who gets jealous… who gets paranoid… who gets targeted because they received it.

Can’t believe Paul is HOH. That guy yells at us and tries to be so animated but he looks like he’s swatting flies. Drives me crazy. Too loud, too brash and he thinks we like it. As for someone leaving the blog. It’s ok and works out fine as long as the one who goes is the one who created friction (I’m being kind here) on the blog and that’s exactly it so I’m just fine about it. You had to be here so it’s best to just let it stand as it is.

I don’t know why they aren’t going after the better players. Also I don’t get big bro at night so I don’t see all the bad. But I think Micah is a mean girl so I want her gone. Paul did start to act nicer for a minute then oop’s like my ex husband he turned back into a jerk. At least Johnny Mac was lovable and funny but Paul is short..i mean short tempered… lol. No really he has short boy <—-syndrome so is loud and bossy. And I bet he doesn't have a chin.

OKAY….I feel it's MY fault HOH8 isn't here. If she can see this… or if anyone talks to her… If she'll come only if I leave, I'll leave. Won't be my first time. At least she didn't tell me to STFUP and called me 'my dear''…lol.

Paul was chatting with Bridgette in HOH room after noms.

He was telling her not to worry and to trust him.. that Da (or maybe even Nicole) is the actual target this week. Just stay cool… but don’t act too comfortable.

Part of this was just playing the game. Part was true. Paul is covering his bases. If Bridgette gets evicted.. no loss to him. And he has said he wanted her out this week over Da & Nicole. But he’s willing to go along with what others want.

If Bridgette is saved.. then he thinks he and Paulie will gain an ally.

They also discussed who to choose for POV if HG choice gets drawn. Paul & Paulie will choose Vic or Corey. Bridgette will choose Natalie so no one gets suspicious. (choosing Natalie will be easy to explain as Bridgette feels she can beat her)
