Happy Holidays from Big Brother Blog

We have successfully passed through Thanksgiving and are heading into the holiday season I want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and hope that this December you have a lot of fun, family and friends!

As I sit here in Minnesota on the evening of Dec. 8, 2009 watching the first snowfall/blizzard of the season going on, all I can think is….IS IT SUMMER YET? :)

I so love Big Brother and I so love a summer version of Big Brother! However it is alway so far away. We are just over 200 days out from the start of another Big Brother and man…I am so wanting to be a part of it.

So instead of apply…I started to update my blog. :)

Few new changes to note.

First of all, I have redone the comment section. Now you can log in to comment from your facebook (coming soon), your twitter, your yahoo and a few other ways. The hope is this will make it easier to cut down on spam and make it even MORE of a community here on Big Brother Blog!

Also I changed the new poll. I am excited to hear if you want another winter season of Big Brother (it wont happen but let us know your thoughts)

More cool changes to come. If you have any suggestions please let me know.

Miss you all and hope you help me test out the new comment section!

    It took me 3 & 1/2 days to notice that we had a new page.... I am slipping. Maybe I should sign up for that e-mail thing after all.

    I wish I knew why it is so hard to sign in here. I think it took me 10 tries to finally be able to post. It kept telling me to post as a guest. If anyone has a simple method....please tell.

    I don't know Frannie... I just stay logged into Disqus and when I come here I am already logged in. I logged out just to see what happens. Above the comment box it said "comment as a guest" or "log in below". There were 4 icons to use.. the first one is Disqus. I just clicked on that and my info was already saved on there. I clicked "log in" and I was done. I think I checked something when I set up my account way back for it to remember me. Maybe check your settings??

    ok JT...I didn't log out of here last night so all was cool. I guess I'll just have to keep it up and logged in too. Have I ever mentioned....I HATE COMPUTERS!!!!!! They are so aggravating for me. :shock: :roll:

    Thanks for the attempt Frannie. You'd think I'd be sick of the shock face by now....... but no, still funny to me. It's gonna suck when BB12 starts and Ted can't use smileys.. he loves them so much!! :lol: :smile: (mine didn't work either.. :sad: )

    Hi Ted, I'd be more than happy to discuss BB with you. How much of BB11 have you watched now? Need any guidance? My opinion of most people on the show changed at some point... except Jessie. I knew I didn't like him from BB10. Other than the all-star season (BB7), he is the only one who got a second chance.... and I'm still not sure why CBS picked him. Maybe they felt guilty because he was knocked out of BB10 by an America's vote.(yes, I remember Sharon was brought back in when Neil left in BB9)

    As far as your smiley avatar... you keep it. Remember, I have "Terminator Smiley" if I feel like using it. Frosty? nah, not really trying to make any statement with it. That stuff on Aggie's blog was just "tongue in cheek" stuff I made up on the fly to give it meaning. Tyler is the only avatar I have had that had meaning... the rest of the time I just go for something goofy.

    So, chat away about BB11 and I will add my thoughts. I am a huge fan. Watching 21 hours per week on Showtime plus 3 hours per week on CBS has made it an obsession.

    Hi, Jt, Yes i guess I like all this running around I try to be loyal too people, really more people should do that, it would be nice if everyone came back from before, People do have a tendency to get lazy, and not want too make the effort ,but i happen too think its worth It, maybe if i were addicted to TV, I would not be doing it either, I think people watch way too much Tv in general, people just have too learn too put the remote down once in awhile take a breather,, really people, pretty much a couch potato society.

    WOW… what a workout!!! Just watched the first week of BB11… 4 episodes. Pain in the neck on u-tube with 5 parts per. That is a brutal show! I definitely like Jeff. I do think Jordan is kind of dumb, but she did try to engineer a coup against Chima, who I'm not all that crazy about. I think she will isolate herself. That Ronnie is pretty devious, but not as smart as he thinks he is. Still liking Natalie… and I like Lydia... a lot. Don’t like fake tits, and thats all Laura has going for her, so she’s not a fave. At least Jordan’s look somewhat real. I do like Little Miss Phd. Her Bikini Dance was cute. Haven’t decided on Casey. Kevin will be fun to watch have hissy fits. HATE Jessie! But then, he has been there before, and walked thru the door playing the game. And saving the best for last who is worse than Jessie… RUSSELL!!! Don’t know his last name, but he is a Skank for sure! A bigger muscle head than Jessie if that’s at all possible. Can’t wait to see his swagger cut off when his ego is deflated and he is brought down to Earth. Didn’t care about Brandan one way or the other.

    no ted, It wasnt a racial thing she had a hissy fit and threw a very expensive mic in the swimming pool they asked her too come too the diary room and they she was escorted out. that was the end of her. people were shocked. She was also criticized for making racial comments, towards Russell who is lebanese.

    I just watched Episode 1 of BB11... had to watch on U-Tube. Any other ideas??? It was blurry... some guy probably taped it off his TV. Did anyone else hate Jessie as much as I do? And I've only seen a few minutes of the guy!

    Ted ,both Lydia and natalie had a serious attraction too jesse ,neither one of them got along, because they both had a thing for jesse, pretty scary about jesse being a ladies man on there, considering im pretty sure he is gay, that guy just seems like he has zero interest in women,he could never care about someone more than his own reflection.

    Ted, It was jordan and natalie and kevin who were the final 3 ,I was upset that she took natalie too the end , but of course if she took kevin she might not have won, but still i liked kevin he is a smart guy.

    actually they have the jury staying at a nice place like on survivor, the evicted houseguests determine who wins, whats cool also they show the jury house and they give their opinions of people.

    ted,actually natalie and jesse were good friends on the show, It seemed like thing s really changed when jesse was in the jury house with Lydia, because jesse turned on natalie, and gave his vote too Jordan at the finale, Natalie seemed bitter about that because if you saw the backyard interviews at the end of the game, natalie accused jesse of being jealous because she had a boyfriend, It had too hurt her though because she and lydia had a serious crush on that fool, who definitely was not worth it.

    Ok, I see where the "current" BB11 chat is going on..... I just didn't scroll down far enough. Don't tell Ted too much info. He knows who won, but seeing it all play out is pretty cool. Too bad we didn't get our hooks in you last summer Ted. It really was amazing to watch not knowing what would happen. We got you for BB12 though.... hopefully it will be a good one.

    Hey Ted! Good to see ya tryin stuff out here. If you click on your avatar (the one that appears ON TOP of the comment box) there should be a green banner across the top of your profile page. There should be 3 options there.
    1) My Activity
    2) My Settings
    3) My Profile

    You'll be on the "my profile" part, you gotta click "my settings" in that green banner at the top. If this doesn't help, then I don't know what. I would think all of our stuff would be the same..... unless it has something to do with facebook (which I am not on).

    BBBlogger, I have figured out how to get actual post time displays rather than a generic... "4 days ago".

    1)Each person needs to click on their profile.(clicking your avatar above the comment box is easiest)
    2) Click on "My settings" on that page.
    3) Click on "Account" from the settings options.
    4) There is an option there labeled "Date and Time Formatting"
    5) The 2 options are "Relative" and "Absolute". Choose "Absolute" to see actual post times.
    6) Remember to click "save changes" before you leave that screen.... All set!!

    When it says "48 comments and 0 reactions" on the Home page, what does the reactions part mean? Does it have something to do with flagging a comment?

    I'm baaaack!! Yes Ted, you can switch the order of comments to fit your needs. Default is that the newest comments appear at the top directly under the comment box. You can switch that if you want by using the "sort by" option which is found under the comment box and your e-mail addy.

    Hmmm, can't imagine why Cynthia can't get on SS... hope that is cleared up. We miss you there Cyn..... Now I better jump over there and read.. maybe it has already been resolved! LOL @ myself

    There is no topic... other than trying out the new and improved BB blog. So excuse me if I go on about nothing.

    I see we can still use HTML tags (as in my reply to BBBlogger's fun fun fun comment) Also, I LOVE the fact that we can reply directly to a comment! The only draw-back I can see with this feature, is that for people like me (that HAVE to read EVERYTHING) is that I'll be scrolling through to check for replys to earlier comments. No prob.. I can do it.

    I tried an emoticon code to see what happened and..... just the typed code appeared. Hmmmm, I hope that is corrected. We can't give into "new comer" Ted's wishes of an emoticon free blog!! We can be childish if we want!

    Yeah, I figured it was something like that. I never really needed to sign up for e-mails.. I would just save page as a desktop favorite and come here when I wanted too.... e-mail or no e-mail. Funny thing is that I can get here much faster than I can check to see if I have an e-mail from BBblog.

    I guess BBBlogger has got me this time though, I'll sign up for e-mails so I don't have to scan through when some smarta$$ (AC) leaves a response.. LOL. I still gotta scroll through for responses to others though.... oh well, I got 7 months to get the hang of it!!

    Sorry... but one more thing. I do like the time to show up on posts rather than "4 hrs ago" etc. Often, someone will refer to someone else's post at a specific time. It will be much easier to find that post at ...i e ..... 2:46pm then at "6 hours ago". Could be many posts that fall under the "6 hours ago" category. Either way, we'll make it work.

    I can't wait for BB12. And yes, I would love another winter season of BB. I've been a fish flopping around on the shores of Samoa, but now have landed back in my comfortable lake that is the BB blog. Don't worry, I'll walk Ted through a season of BB.

    Not sure I like comment box at top, rather then at bottom next to the most recent comments. I guess it will work fine, just have to read, then jump to top to comment... then jump to bottom to read. I can do that???

    The way so many new shows are ending so early for the season, I was hoping maybe they'd throw an extra round of Big Brother out there for us like they did the year of the writers strike.
