Skellygirl… being a #2 really stinks… Not kidding… lol

I know I posted this on yesterday’s blog this morning, but I am posting it again for whenever k11 can no longer stand the bright Vegas sun interfering with his sleep and finally fires up his 1st generation Commodore computer for another day at the office.

Now that K11 has designated me as BB blog grandfather (January 17th, 1943) I hope you all can understand that the late night partying on here is way past my bedtime. Ben Franklin (born January 17th) and I are both early to bed and early to rise kind of guys though he did think of it first.

K11… As I recall, on May 28, 1960 at 6:31 am, I was preparing to goof off some more during pre-graduation senior week at Bladensburg High School in – you guessed it – Bladensburg, Maryland, the location of a famous War of 1812 battle just outside of DC.

Now working through the logistics of your coming out party (no not that kind) you did not provide the coordinates for the stairwell in Maryland, but since your dad was likely stationed at Andrews – my best guess – it was probably somewhere in Prince Georges County, MD, where your mom with her tethered k11 was rushed to a Chevy nowhere near any levies ( probably not a ‘59 Impala convertible, 4 on the floor, black, lowered to ground level and finned out to the max or you could have flown to Andrews) then to a taxi (how your folks ever found a taxi any time of day in PG County beats the hell out of me) but then you went to Andrews Air Force Base to have your umbilical cord cut.

While I will agree that your “complete” delivery came in stages, you never did make it to DC, since Andrews AFB has always been in Camp Springs , MD, about as far away from DC in Prince Georges County, MD as you can get by air or land.

Skellygirl… so what’s the latest poop on Survivor. Samoa must be pretty desolate now that most of the Samoan guys are playing football for the University of Utah or BYU. Heavy Mormon influence in Samoa and Tonga.

The best part of Dancing With The Stars for me is the great ensemble of musicians in the orchestra. Had to pull a lot of strings to put that group together.

Phillip. I was going to post something about that as I thought about it (my birth). Was actualy coming out in DC then must have been driven to Andrews, in MD. My birth certifcate is Suitland (County, City?), Maryland. Thanks Grandpa PK, I knew you were sharp enough to straighten it all out. You are the encyclopeedia and have been all over the US (CA, UT, AL MD?). I have trouble remebering my berfday as I was just 0 at the time! LOL. You’re great man. k11

Phillip, FRANKS, mama margie and Donna Rose, When I wrote that I think of you 4 as my Grandparents here, it was a reflection of your wisdom displayed and certainly no reflection of your ages. I am smart enough at 49 to know you would be more like my parents, but the feel I got from reading here for 2 1/2 months was of the elder statesman. And PK, Was there anyone cooler and more underrated in the USA then our boy Benjamin Franklin? Journalism, electricity, the Constitution? where would we be without Ben? He is a one of a kind dude and we could really use someone–a forward thinker–like home right about now. Respect. k11

k11… Suitland, Maryland is also in Prince Georges County. In fact, The Naval Hydrographic Office (Hydro) in Suitland was what brought my dad from Utah to the DC area in 1941 immediately after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He continued on as an oceanographer with the Navy until he retired and returned to Utah.

skellygirl … One of my first sorta possibly maybe but definitely DD adult lady friends in the DC area was from Columbus, Ohio. I even drove to Columbus to meet her parents – nice boy, lol. I remember a Northland Mall and what I remember most other than the DD”s was that I heard Elton John’s “Your Song” for the first time on that trip to Ohio. Must have been 1970 or thereabouts.

Phillip, My first concert ever in 1975 at the Chicago Stadium was our boy Elton John, It was awesome. I remember being 15, smoking a cigarette with my friend Tom for the first time (Then went 33 years without a smoke, amazingly) at gawking at the 17-25 years girls thinking wow, these women are way out of my league. My how things have changed. Love Lies Bleeding/Funeral For A Friend, Daniel, Your Song, Rocket Man, need I go on. Reginald Dwight is a livinglegend, and I know our boy FRANKS is a big fan, as his avatar and words have shown. Respect your taste in music and DD’s. And boy, does your BYU have a great FB team this year. 2-0 against the pointspread and if they can beat TCU at TCU, the Cougars may make a run at the national title against Tim Tebow and FLA. Looking forward to the new survivor season, It seems like theirs a new person to hate besides THE GNAT, that RUSSELL guy the oil company owner, I have watched survivor since the beginning some of them have been better, than others. I am also a fan of the amazing Race and Dancing with the stars I look forward to their season.

Kev11 & Janedans, Thank-you both for your kind words. I really wasn’t trying to be a downer. All the talk of Elton John on here just brought it out. I felt it was ok as the season had ended and there was no real topic of discussion. I have thought about it a lot over the past 19 years, but have never written about it until now. I’m not a writer, but something about writing it down here hit me real hard.
