Big Brother 10 Stocks (and Clips!): Gerry Down, Renny Up

Wine is flowing in the Big Brother house tonight, and that means what?

Well, it’s been just a round of the “telephone” game and some charades so far. However, the night hasn’t been without its confrontation. As BBBlogger updated you earlier tonight, Gerry won the PoV and took Jessie off the block, replacing the Iowa bodybuilder with Brian, the guy who convinced Gerry to go with Jessie and Renny for nominations in the first place.

Well, after fiddling with BBReloader to get my audio settings right, I picked up on a pair of conversations between Gerry and Brian, including one where they pretty much hash out their differences.

As much as I wanted to pull for Gerry in the beginning, I’m beginning to get that sense of old-man cockiness about our resident 75-year-old. He’s spent most of the night sitting on the deck, a la Dick Donato minus the Marlboro reds. He’s all game and, unfortunately, not a ton of personality so far.

Might that be his demise?

On the other hand, I will curse this house if they DARE to get rid of Renny. She might have annoyed some of the houseguests early on, but the 53-year-old New Orleans socialite is going to make this house fun.

Why? Because she’s super unique and possibly insane.

Not that this clip shows it. In fact, this is possibly the most geriatric moment in show history with an HoH conversation between two people whose collective ages total 128. Here’s a little strategy talk between Gerry and Renny:

The vibe of the house overall right now is that Brian is a goner right off the bat, and while I can’t get a feel for how everybody is feeling about our two older houseguests, I can only speak for myself. Gerry’s stock is going way down, and Renny’s is going way up.

Not because of her game play. Just the entertainment value. She has the makings of a Big Brother legend.

  4. I sure hope they never have a House of folks all over 50 - it would effect the viewership and not in a good way. There could be some great times in this House - no one stands out yet but I agree Gerry’s stock is going down - FAST - Don’t know about Renny - have to give that a little time.

  6. Ok…before this goes any further,we need to get something cleared up. The male nickname for Gerald is *JERRY*, not *GERRY*. Gerry is the female nickname for Geraldine. I only mention it because every conversation has his name in it and I am getting dizzy watching it appear different evry time. IF you go to CBS.com and check the bios or even just look UP at the top of the page, you will see that J-E-R-R-Y is how the man spells his name. Just thought continuity was called for here. :)

I have to say that so far I think all the happenings in the house have been very petty…nothing to get excited about. I posted last nite that so far I was bored and that has not changed. The parts I have managed to watch have not had Renny really saying anything…… but if she IS fun and nuts, I hope she DOES stay!!! Cuz this group really needs HELP in that arena.

I’m also not happy (not to mentioned initially very confusedabout)Brian being possibly evicted. Jessie seems kinda DUH to me and Brian is probably the only person in the house I think shows much intelligence and relatability. Not to mention the only good looking guy. Which lead us to the comment about a show of all over 50’s. I hate to sound this shallow but….this year not having the eye-candy of past years has actually disappointed me and im NOT 20-something!! So I agree that if you take away the youth/hot factor, alot of people would quit watching. I mean..can you really imagine the Golden Girls transplanted to the BB house??LOL

And as long as I’m on a rant, have you ever seen a gay guy LESS gay than Steve??!! I think BB missed the boat there too and the effect, or lack of, are showing up in the house. I have LOVED the BB gays of past years. Marcellua, Dustin, Justin……. they were all properly flaming ,dramatic and well dressed and groomed! Steve looks like a straight good ole boy with his cami, mismatched clothes, hunters cap and he CHEWS tobacco for God’s sake!!!! He seems more like the straight, unkept guy in Queer Eye than the actual GAY one!!! I’m just saying that the show needs that whole section of drama it usually has and is now going to miss this season.

Ok..I’m done. If you read of all of this, thanks for listeing. If you didn’t bother, can’t say I blame ya……lol

  10. I’m concerned with Jerry’s health, this group is gonna drive him insane before its over but I don’t think he will last to long, game wise.
So far I haven’t seen a better BB series sinse the Donato’s, and boy does this Keesha resemble Danielle, but her laugh and the heavy eye make-up, other than that she could pass for her sister, they always say that everybody has a twin, haven’t found mine yet, lol

  12. Not all gay men are “properly flaming ,dramatic and well dressed and groomed”. It is good that BB can show the non-stereo-typical gay man.

  14. Actually, the Magnolia, TX, newspaper that did a feature on Gerry spelled his name with a “g” … and my experience says they were WAY more likely to ask than CBS. :-) Many people named Gerald over the years have used Gerry as a first name: Gerry Mulligan (famous jazz musician), Gerry Adams (politico in northern Ireland), etc.

Furthermore, The Associated Press is spelling his name “Gerry,” and they are pretty much the standard bearer in terms of style:

    http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5hb6zAPkzdt1yrQnmH3xMsDaH_J7AD91PL3D00

So, spell his name however you’d like. However, according to AP and the man’s hometown newspaper, it’s Gerry. And until I hear him spell it otherwise, that’s how I’ll be spelling it.

  16. Why is Jerry stock going down?? I am 37 and luv to watch Jerry so far… now I may change that but being a woman thats our purogative (spelling srry) right?? Anyway as far as Renny saying something about Jerry gettin some of April’s ta ta’s hey she was offerin so. YO Renny you come from New Orleans where people flash for dollar store beads, I am sure you have PLENTY OF BEADS HUN!! I say go get some JER..

I haven’t gotten the feeds yet but I was watching the first episode boiling over with the glorified tele-marketer / cell phone sales guy when he was up in the HOH. SOOOO smug

He just thought he figured out the ole marine and ala Will (the puppetmaster) as Jerry explains in the video above.

I was saying to my husband after Brian said “we will keep him (Jerry on the ship until it goes down the rats go first????” UMM WHAT BRIAN ?

Here is a man who was in the Korean war and is a marine (loved the comment Renny said about oh you used to be a marine? Ole Jer is like you never STOP being a marine…. Listen Ole boy has been watching since season one like most of us, I don’t know what happened to make him change his mind but maybe my special powers of thought worked and he heard me tell him Brian was the RAT.
LMAO. Also The Catholic school teacher who can sin all he wants and then confess and BOOM all is resolved lol…Gotta luv that religion srry guys for the religion comment but really all is forgiven just by confession.

ANYWAY. I am a Jerry fan 4 now :) i think he is smart and i am sure he has eaten worse than slop and i think he handled the nom ceremony pretty good putting it back on the people, but why did he change nom’s???

Listen how many times have we watched early alliances crash and burn??
See ya in the flames BRI BRI hey I was lookin for a new plan on my cell can u help me with that???

  18. OKAY…THAT 5-PART PUPPET SHOW KICKED BOOTY BIGTIME!!!

I loved how Steven had April down AND Brian was just hilarious with his impersonations of Renny!! (Also loved how he dressed her puppet)

The “other” Hsgs had a fit when they went to the Diary Room. (To show production their puppet show.) Those guys are just way too intense. (Michelle, Jessie, Ollie, April, and Libra)

Loved how Keesha just listens to them and tries to hang out. Although…when she talks…she talks A LOT!!

And I’m sorry…but Jerry/Gerry is driving me nuts with how hard he is trying to cover his ass. He Rambles the same info. over and over…making sure everyone knows he was the one who was Duped!! Even his own “group” want him out. The order: Brian, Dan, Renny, and Jerry.

Unfortunate about Brian. He’s ruthless and played his cards too early…but at least he’s interesting and a threat to others…which provides DRAMA!

Can’t wait to see who wins next HOH!

  24. is the twist this year not that someone know someone in the house but at each house guest has had a friend or family member in one of the old BB houses.
    Think about it.

  28. On Monday night-Tuesday morning while playing a game of charades, Jerry refered (innocently) to Angie as a Psycho. She went into her bedroom and had a crying fit. People went into her room and tried to comfort her. To make a long story short Jerry apologized to her. She went out side with the other people, and while chewing on some chocolate, had a cigarette in her hand. 30 minutes later while eating some scrambled eggs, again she had a cigarette in her hand. Even some of the houseguests chided her about this. I know this is petty, but who the hell smokes while eating chocolate and scrambled eggs?
And whats with all the hats? Also I don’t want to see a house full of over 50’s.

  30. SoonerRyan..I stand corrected! My experience had been just the opposite with an uncle Jerry and female friend named Gerry. But all i was after was continuity so…Gerry it is!:)

Supergood….thanks for the link…I hadn’t seen that! It was hysterical!

And crazychick..you could be on to something. I read that Chelsia from BB9 knows one of the guys..whoever is from Iowa..can’t remember now…..but that’s ONE anyway. :)

  32. SOOOO much to say. Don’t know even where to begin. Still attempting to digest Star’s comments. Brian WOULD of been a good manipulator, he might have tried too fast too soon. Was tired of all the so called ‘eye-candy’ every season. I like the mix of ages, that is what BB i suposed to be all about. Putting people in there who are different, from diff backgrounds, religions, ages, locales, jobs, education, family, morals..yadda yadda.
