Big Brother 24 — It’s Over!

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 25, 2022

Hi, everyone!

I don’t know if the show is still going on the West Coast or not but, needless to say, I’m about to post who won Big Brother so consider this your SPOILER ALERT if you haven’t watched the show or checked social media yet.

Defying my expectations, Monte won the final HoH.

Defying my expectations once again, Monte evicted Turner and brought Taylor with him to the final two.

Now, to be honest, I thought Monte was going to win but I was wrong.  Monte won a lot of challenges and he engineered a lot of evictions but, when it came time to make his case to the jury, he stumbled.  He tried to argue that evicting Turner was the biggest move of his game.

For her part, Taylor played up the fact that she had survived despite being targeted from the moment she came into the House and she did a pretty good job of making it seem as if anything other than a Taylor victory would be a win for everything that was wrong with the world.

I predicted that Monte would still win.

I was wrong.

By a vote of 8-1, Taylor won Big Brother 24.  Only Turner voted for Monte.

Taylor also went on to win America’s Favorite Player, which means she gets even more money and a cruise.

To be honest, the main takeaway I took from the finale is that Joseph appeared to be sincerely upset by the Taylor/Monte showmance.  Personally, I think a cruise with Joseph would be more fun than a cruise with Monte.

Well, that’s another season of Big Brother in the books but fear not!  I’m covering Survivor and The Amazing Race over at Reality TV Chat Blog.  And I’ll be back here for the next edition of Big Brother!

Congratulations to the winners and thanks for reading!

Lisa Marie

P.S. For the record, I think Monte’s biggest mistake was evicting Turner.  He would have beaten Turner in the final two.  Monte could probably argue that he had played a better game than Taylor but Taylor had a far more compelling personal narrative.

Big Brother 24 — Almost Over

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 24, 2022

Hi, everyone.  Just one more day to go!

The first part of the final HoH comp was won by Turner.

The second part of the final HoH comp was won by Monte.

So, part 3 — which will be on Sunday — will be between Monte and Turner.  Taylor is out of the running for the final HoH and she might be out of the running for the final two as well.  Monte and Turner both seem to be planning on taking each other, regardless of how the final HoH goes.

It all wraps up tomorrow so we’ll see what happens!

Big Brother 24 — Just To Make It Official

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 22, 2022

Hi, everyone!

No big shocks tonight but I will post it here for the record.

Tonight, Monte evicted Brittany from the Big Brother House.  That means that our final three is:

  1. Monte
  2. Taylor
  3. Turner

As for the rest of the season:

Friday will be the dreaded flashback episode.

Sunday will be the finale.

Probably the most memorable part of tonight’s episode was when we saw Alyssa informing the jury (including Joseph) that Monte was now sleeping in Taylor’s room “every night.”  The look on Joseph’s face!

As far as the final three is concerned, I would probably put my money on Monte to win.  He’s got both Taylor and Turner planning to bring him to the final two and the jury seems to be impressed with his gameplay.

We’ll see what happens.

It’s time!

The season is almost over and it’s time to select our final three! That means that it’s also time for us to open the diary room an invite you to vote for you would send home if you were Monte!

Do you vote for….

BRITTANY, the hypnotherapist

or

TURNER, the hypnotized?

Cast your vote over on the right side of the page or in the comments below and then be sure to watch the show on Thursday to see who will be joining the jury!

Happy voting!

Big Brother 24 — No One Likes A Whiner

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 20, 2022

Hi, everyone!

This is just a quick update to let you know that nothing has changed in the house.  Seriously, this is the most boring finale week ever.  I cannot believe that production did the veto as early as they did and then didn’t bother to come up with anything for the houseguests to do until Thursday night.

If you checked in with the feeds today, you got to see Brittany whining.  She knows that there’s no way that Monte is going to keep her over Turner so now she’s spending all of her time trashing Monte to Taylor.  Brittany says that Michael carried Monte over the course of the whole game and that, if not for him, Monte would have been voted out a long time ago.  Of course, Brittany could say the same thing about herself.

Brittany has sworn to Taylor that, as soon as she reaches the jury house, she will start campaigning against Monte.  She’s convinced that she can get Jasmine, Indy, and Alyssa to all vote for Taylor to win.  Now, it’s possible that those three will vote for Taylor but I doubt that it’s going to be because Brittany told them to.  But right now, Brittany is saying what she has to say to make herself feel better.

As Monte and Taylor, it appears that their showmance might be back on.  They were kissing in the HoH room earlier.  Whatever.  I’m kind of ready to wrap this season up.

Big Brother 24 — Lukewarm Drama in The House

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 19, 2022

Ugh.  Maybe it’s just because we’re getting close to the end of the season and there’s only four people left but our final few houseguests are starting to get really tedious!  Up until these final few weeks, I was so busy disliking Indy, Jasmine, and Terrance that I never really noticed how annoying everyone else.

Today, Brittany finally approached Monte and tried to convince him to keep her in the House.  Her argument was that Turner could not be trusted and that Turner would probably take Taylor to the final two over Monte.  She also argued that it would be easier for Monte to beat Brittany than it would be for Monte to beat Turner.  Brittany was correct when she said that she would be the easier person to beat at the end but Brittany’s tendency to be condescending came out while she was talking and, as a result, Monte kind of tuned her out.  Monte did his usual thing of saying that he appreciated her approaching him and he promised to think about what she said.  By now, we all know that means that Monte’s made up his mind and nothing’s going to persuade him.  Brittany seems to understand that her approach failed and, after Monte left the room, Brittany spoke to the cameras and apologized to her husband for not playing a better game.

Monte is also a bit upset because he had an argument with Taylor last night.  Apparently, Taylor made some comment about how long it had been since Monte had seen his goddaughter.  I’m not sure how the exact comment was phrased but it upset Monte and it led to him accusing Taylor letting her HoH power go to her head.  He even told her that he could understand why so many other houseguests disliked her.  He said that he felt she was pushing their relationship along too quickly.  Taylor apologized a few times but Monte still collected his stuff and moved out of the HoH room.  So, apparently, that showmance may be over.  We’ll find out later tonight, I guess.

So, as I said, there’s been some drama over the past 24 hours but it’s all kind of tedious and dumb.  By this point, even Brittany seems to understand that she’s not going to be in the final three.  The question now seems to be whether or not Monte and Taylor will honor their promise to take each other to the final two or if Turner now has a shot to be selected.  (Monte has been talking to Turner a lot about his relationship troubles with Taylor.)  Of course, if Turner wins the final HoH, he’s already made clear that he’s going to take Monte to the final two with him.

We’ll see how things develop!

Big Brother 24 — Things Are Moving Slowly

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 18, 2022

Hi, everyone!

I understand why production decided to do the veto competition early this week.  The show is not going to air on Wednesday (the premieres of Survivor and The Amazing Race are scheduled for that night) so they did the veto comp early so it could be included on Sunday’s show.  That’s understandable but, as a result, there’s now nothing going on in the Big Brother House.  Monte has the veto.  He’s not going to use it.  Taylor, Turner, and Monte are the final three.  Now, we’re just waiting until Thursday.

Here’s what I can tell you.

Brittany is still trying to convince Taylor that Turner was the one who voted to evict her.  Taylor still doesn’t believe her.  Brittany also finally told the other houseguests that she’s a hypnotherapist.  None of them really care.  Brittany has told the house cameras that she’s going to make a pitch to Monte to ask him to save her but she hasn’t actually done it yet.

The Monte/Taylor showmance is continuing, though Monte has also told Turner that he’s not sure that it will continue outside the house.  Monte feels that a lot of the showmance is something Taylor just wants to do in order “to make good television,” and that the two of them won’t have much in common once they leave the house.

And really, that’s pretty much it.  To be honest, the final week in the House is almost kind of boring and this season is proving to be no exception.  Everyone but Brittany knows who the top three is going to be so now it just comes down to whoever wins that final HoH.

Big Brother 24 — Things Are Moving Quickly

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 16, 2022

Hi, everyone!

Things are movie pretty quickly in the Big Brother House.  Last night, after she had only been HoH for a few hours, Taylor was called upon to make her nominations.  To no one’s surprise, she nominated Brittany and Turner.

This morning, the houseguests competed for the veto and Monte won.  So, the nominations will remain the same and Monte will be casting the only vote.  He has told both Taylor and Turner that he will be voting to evict Brittany.

For her part, Brittany has been lying to both Taylor and Monte about how she voted on Thursday.  Instead of admitting that she cast the vote for Taylor, Brittany has been claiming that it was Turner.  No one believes Brittany.  If nothing else, her lying has made them even more determined to get rid of her.  Right now, it’s just a question of whether or not they’ll give her a heads up before sending her out or if they’ll blindside her.

So, in short, our final three is pretty much set.  It’ll be Turner, Taylor, and Monte.  If Turner wants to make it to the final two, he’s going to have to win HoH as Taylor and Monte are no longer hiding their showmance and they’ve both talked about how they’re looking forward to going to the final two together.

Big Brother 24 — About Tonight

by Lisa Marie Bowman on September 15, 2022

Well, you can’t say that Brittany didn’t try.

Brittany tried to engineer the blindside of the season by voting to evict Taylor.  If Turner had also voted to evict Taylor (and Alyssa spent a lot of time trying to convince him this week), Taylor would have gone to jury.  Instead, Turner kept his word to Monte and voted to evict Alyssa.  This led to a 1-1 tie.  Monte broke the tie and evicted Alyssa.  Monte got out his target but he had to get blood on his hands to do it so he is not happy.

Taylor and Brittany tied during the HoH comp, which led to a tie-breaking question.  (I believe this was the first time they had to bring out the dry erase boards this season.)  Taylor and Brittany were asked to estimate the number of seconds that it took Brittany to win the veto.  Ironically, Taylor is the one who got closest to the correct time and she is now HoH.  That means Taylor is guaranteed to make it to the final three.

It’s also potentially very bad news for Brittany.  Brittany just made things worse for herself by lying to Monte and Taylor and trying to convince them that Turner was the vote to evict Alyssa.  Brittany is not a very good liar and neither Monte nor Taylor believe her.  They both have said that they noticed that, when she came out of the voting booth, Brittany wouldn’t make eye contact with either of them.

As far as who goes this week, it all depends on who wins the veto.  Things aren’t looking good for Brittany but everyone has also agreed that she would be easy to beat in a final two situation so, despite the vote and her subsequent lies, Brittany might still get carried to the finale.

The nominations are tomorrow!
